Expansion Time. This will be the last expansion. I'm stopping the league at 28 teams and keeping the 4 x 7 Division alignment.

Historical rookies from the later expansion teams will go into the free agent pool. I'm going to restrict myself on signing them, maybe a wait requirement, maybe a complete ban.

Historically this is the first of 20 consecutive losing seasons for the Pirates.

Concerning the historical 20 losing seasons, I'll see some of the effect of that because I'm playing historical rookies. And although I'm limiting spending I still may be in a better position money wise than the real life PIrates.

Then there's the advantage a human GM has when playing with historical players, even with development and TCR on. Even though a player's career is likely to be a plausible alternative to reality, a human can't erase from his memory what a player did in real life and benefit at least a bit from that.

Barry Bonds previously signed a long term contract that became a bargain as time passed. He may sign another. That would help the Pirates a lot.

So we'll see.
