Why does my team suck?

For some reason for a couple seasons now my team has just been garbage. I have no idea what i'm doing wrong. I have 3+ stars for almost everyone, I have a mix of offensive, two-way, and defensive forwards and defensemen. I'm thinking maybe it's my coach? but I can't even afford any other coaches cause my own salary (1.9 mil) is taking up all the staff budget, every FA coach wants 1.4mil + which I don't have room for. Is there something i'm doing wrong?

If you don't want to use manual tactics try firing your coach and use assistant for setting lineups and tactics, I find it works better than a head coach 99% of the time

Head Coach and GM salaries should be looked at for FHM9 for those that have no specific salary set in database. If there is no set salary in the database for a specific head coach or gm, the game sets their salary around 70-80K, then you have no room in staff budget to get a new head coach as they want 1-2 million.

Game should maybe default their salaries to a league average for those roles.

You posted this on Steam, and I said roughly the same thing there; you don't have enough dedicated scorers.

Being that you've decided to give up control of your tactics and whatnot, you're at a disadvantage, but your team has one dedicated "Sniper". Your entire first line is built to pass the puck and none one really finishing.

That's a huge issue.
