Pictures cut off

Hello,

Guess I should be used to this but the team/logo, etc pictures are squared off and they cut off part of the face and jersey. Is there a fix for this? I forget what I did in FHM6/7 to fix it.

Forgot to mention that pictures were fine before I updated to 8.2.50.

It's still an occasional problem, it'll happen about once in every 20 or so startups. Restarting the game will fix it (aside from the very small chance of getting it twice in a row.) Any broken player/staff pictures will still be like that, but can be replaced by going to the picture menu on the player/staff profile and clicking on New Fictional Picture.

Just loaded the latest patch and now my pictures are back cut off. This is not just a few but everyone. I have tried to regen the picture but still shows up cut off.

Exit and restart the game and it should go back to normal (you'll have to regenerate any player portraits that previously generated as cut off.)

Sorry I forgot to mention I already tried that and when I regenerate the portrait nothing happens.

What about New Fictional Picture or Auto-Reload picture, does either of those work?

Nope those don't fix it either. Is there a DB I can reset or something?

Try closing the game, then going into the /graphics/player_pics folder of the save (typically \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 8\saved_games\arizoona.lg\graphics\player_pics). Delete all the files in that folder, that should force them to regnerate when you restart the game (except in the unlucky case that you happen to get hit with that bug again on the new start, in which case you'll need to exit and restart once more.

OK so I did that and started the game and the stupid bug was still there. I exited the game and restarted a second time and the pictures were all fixed. This morning I opened the game again and they were all bugged out again. I give up with this. It's been an issue for a few FHM versions now and never seems to get fixed (if that's possible).

We have tried. Boy, we've tried. We've had both us and the OOTP team look at it and we can't find a reason for it. There's no consistency to it, which makes it even harder to find the root cause. We're not-not looking, but until we find a way to catch it in a consistent loop like most issues, it's hard to fix.

It is inconvenient, no doubt and I personally have been fairly fortunate this year myself with it rarely happening. The best suggestion I can make it just delete the photos every time. I always find (and Jeff has said this doesn't make a difference, but I'm... superstitious I suppose) is to also flip FHM Skins in between the restarts too.

So yesterday I deleted the picture files again and then when I started the game and changed the skin to default and then restarted the game. Loaded my save in and all the pictures were normal. I saved and restarted the game and changed my skin back to dark and loaded my game in. So far no bug.
