began to appear, at first they began to choose exchanges too often (for example, in ehm without settings they work perfectly, each team is strengthened, or gives back to the leaders if there is a rebuild). Reduced the frequency of exchanges, but now I see a bug that makes me just not want to play the game anymore: computer exchanges are made after the exchange deadline and at the same time these players play immediately for the base, although this is impossible according to the rules of the league!

Without seeing your save, it's impossible to know for sure but it sounds like something may have wrong with finances forcing a lot of moves as the AI tries to figure out what to do. We'd need to see the save though.
For the record or another note; just like baseball, trading after the deadline isn't illegal, it just doesn't happen often because the player can't play in the post season.

While there is a specific deadline for trades, teams can still acquire players from other clubs after March 21.
The caveat is that any player traded after the March 21 deadline is not eligible to play in any regular season or playoff games for their new teams. If any deals are done post-deadline, it typically involves AHL players. |

Could you answer the same? on the basis of what does the exchange take place in large quantities? often see what exchange teams do without supervision? the team is in restructuring, but for some reason gives away its picks to very senior players?

or a prime example. the team enters the conference in 1st place and, after the dead line, exchanges its player for a new one, which they put in the 2nd link. why give away and most importantly why put what you got in 2nd link if he can't play in the playoffs?

Saved games on Mac are hidden very deep in folder system:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/Franchise Hockey Manager 8/Data/Library/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/Franchise Hockey Manager 8/saved_games |

Are you seeing actual trades, or are they waiver pickups or free agent signings? It shouldn't be possible for any teams in the game, AI or human, to make trades after the deadline, and I can't find any examples of that happening when I look through the trade histories in several test games.
If you can upload the save where you saw this (see https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=332673 for uploading instructions), I'd like to take a look at it. |

Got it, thanks. Very odd. All but one the post-deadline trades are player-for-pick, which could theoretically be a cap-compliance move in extreme circumstances like Adam mentioned. But I don't see any indication that any of the teams had a cap problem on that date, or anything (like a player returning from the injured list) that might have caused one, so that can't be it.
They do all seem to be a similar type of trade - a 2-3 star player on one of the lower lines for a draft pick, or, in one case, a player of similar ability. That would see to indicate one particular AI trade strategy is ignoring the deadline, but the system doesn't work that way - the AI routine that decides on what type of trade to attempt just doesn't operate after the deadline happens. It can't call for any type of trade after that point, so there's no real way for a single kind of deal to get around that restriction. I'm wondering if there might be some sort of delay with trade execution happening somehow, where the deals are being made before the deadline but not being completed until days or weeks later for some reason. We'll have to do some further investigating to figure out exactly what's going on here, but that's probably the first thing we'll need to check. |
