Question about historical options

Very new to the game so I am wondering what can be done without having to change settings I would not know about

So if I started a historical league for sake of conversation say starting in 1980

Will the game automatically have players join the franchises minor league teams in future years like 1981, 1982 as they did in real life ? Or do I need to set a setting to do that?

Also will teams be removed and added as years go by For example will the Expos be replaced when they are meant to be or I need a setting for that?

Really what I want to do is play historcial season after season having teams with their actual minor league rookies and teams relocate when they do in history. How I want it to play different is with free agent signings and trades obviously would be done so that would mix up the teams to a degree. How do I achieve this?

Or as a second option is there a way to set it to where every trade and every move is made to completely redo history?

I guess i want to try two franchises

one each way described if possible

Set historical expansion. Disable draft. Set teams to have historical rookies.

If playing with a normal or higher injury setting there sometimes is a problem the first few years having enough minor league players to cover injuries. To help with this import entire history. This gets you players who played in MLB before and after 1980 but not in 1980.

If you don't want there to be any record of baseball existing before 1980 go the the league functions page and select everything to do with erasing history. This will erase all player and team records while leaving the players described in the game.

The players will show up as free agents. You can leave them that way for anyone to sign if you like. I assign them to their correct organization based on BR transactions.

I think that about does it. If there's something I missed one of the other historical players will know.

Selecting historical lineups will do part of this. If by every move you mean injury list moves and demotions to the minors, no. Only the starting lineup for each game is duplicated.

I think what I want to do is start with the first year the game allows and have new players come in to the league in the draft so maybe they end of up different teams. I want them to enter the draft the years they did in MLB.

Then all transactions will be random. So maybe Babe Ruth plays his entire career on a different team who knows

What is best settings for that?

That isn't what you said earlier. I don't play the way you just described and so don't know how to do it. Make up your mind what you want and someone will have an answer..

OOTP will let you go back to 1871 but most prefer to start in 1901 when the AL joined. Whatever year you start with, that is where players will be - unless you elect to do an Inaugural Draft. So if you start a league in 1981, Ryne Sandburg is a Phillie. Next choice to make is if you want rookies to go to their first team as they enter the league thereafter. If No - so Ruth is not a default Red Sox - do not select the set-up to have historical rookies go to their historical team each year. Instead, turn on the draft.
