Historical DSL

Hey all,

I recently tried to start a 2017 save and when the league loaded in, I noticed there was no Dominican league included in the structure. I attempted it a second time with a 2018 save, and same thing.

Is this a known issue? Or am I missing something with getting the DSL and that foreign rookies loaded into the historical saves?

I believe the DSL first appears in OOTP for the 2021 season.

that's unfortunate. any idea if the players that were in the DSL prior to 2021 are still part of the team's organization?

I've been avoiding starting a 2017 sim until figuring out if these DSL players aren't simply left out of the game

i decided to start a 2017 historical sim and then opened baseball reference for the real life 2017 DSL. players in that real league are not present in the sim database at all. so i'm not sure how I should go about doing a historical league when these DSL rookies are not even included....

Maybe import them manually using the first year they show up in the database and then back their ages up manually via the player editor if you feel having the DSL players is imperative to the sim you wish to run. Is there a particular person there you are caring about? Most of them didn't make the majors, I reckon.

there isn't a specific person, no. but quite a few prospects from the DSL that season are on the cusp of playing in the majors. so I'm more so concerned with starting a historical sim with a foundation of historical accuracy. i wish there was better support for the DSL in these historical sims.

The supplier for OOTP's minor league player stats includes "Dominican Summer League" from 2006-2015, and then "Dominican Summer" for 2021. I would assume these two "named" leagues are one in the same, but not certain. At any rate, my guess is that the inclusion of Dominican Summer Leagues from 2006-2015 are not included in OOTP because - even though player stats are available - league total stats (or other needed info) is incomplete. As for 2016-2019 (Covid killed 2020), I have no idea why the supplier does not include those years. So it's most-likely not an OOTP thing, but a "data availability" thing...

Doesn't help you, I know. But at least it's a little background
