Improve quality of drafts?

It seems that by year 2030~ the NHL drafts get progressively worse. I'm currently in 2039 and I'm lucky if there's a 2.5 star potential player left by the end of the 1st round. By the end of the 2nd there are only 1 and 1.5 potential players remaining.

Is there any setting I can tweak that'll generate a higher quality draft class?

I only have NHL and AHL selected as playable leagues, maybe that's a factor?

That's very odd; I definitely don't see it happening in games with all the leagues active. Could you upload that save? I'd like to have a look and see if something's preventing higher-end prospects from reaching the point where they're draft-eligible.

Yup, just uploaded it as "draft-quality.zip".

I did edit the draft to be 3 only rounds after this screenshot and increased the max age to 21 in hopes of making it a bit more dense, but other than that should be nothing out of the ordinary.

Yeah, something's not quite right with the flow of the players to major junior when those leagues aren't playable, I'm going to have to dig into that further. May need a little tweaking of the starting potentials for generated players, too.

Just an update, I started a new save file with all leagues playable and did not see any noticeable improvement in draft quality for later years. It seemed possibly richer in the early 2020s, but by the end of the 2020s the decline was starting. Here's what's available to me at 30th overall in 2035:

I have the same issue already after like 10 seasons. That's why I stop because it kills the immersion for me. Hopefully it will be a lot better in FHM 9 along with other improvements to drafting and more detailed scouting reports.
