Invalid Database version

Hello, I am trying to get into one of my saves, but it says invalid database version. I've tried reinstalling, and have went to properties and verified integrity of game files.

If you can upload the save, we'll have a look and try to see what's wrong with it.

Alright, I think I did it correctly, I posted it. It's named "Chowski Sim League" in the saved_games. Thank you

Looks like there's some corruption in the main save, but the rs_one backup is only a minute or so older than that save and is working fine. So if you copy the files out of \rs_one and into the folder above it, overwriting the current ones, you'll be able to continue normally.

Same problem, no backups?

Hi - I've run into the same problem, but can find no backup files. I presume this is because I've been running in Challenge Mode, and so restoring the database is probably not possible?

No, you should have backup files unless you've turned that option off from the start screen - challenge mode doesn't affect it. There's nothing in the rs_one and rs_tgwo folders in the game? Regardless, if you upload the save we can have a look and see if it's fixable (uploading instructions here.)

It does look like I turned off rolling saves, so that's on me.

I'll try to upload the file in a bit, but if nothing else this is a learning

Edit: File is uploaded as nubs05.lg - Copy. Thanks for taking a look at it!

Looks like it's an easy fix, the only thing broken is the continents.dat file - that file never changes between games, so just copy continents.dat from another save into this save, overwriting the one that's there, and it'll load properly again.

Having the same problem - put my laptop into sleep mode and went elsewhere for a couple of hours; when I came back the laptop had shut off completely somehow, and after restarting I just get the "invalid database version" error.

EDIT: I've taken the liberty of uploading my save under the name "PHL - McJohnson". I should also mention that I had to put the laptop into Safe Mode when I started it back up, and after I then rebooted it normally and opened FHM 6 it went through a lengthy "copying files" load which ended with Chrome opening with the "thank you for installing FHM" page. Perhaps the crash made my laptop think FHM wasn't installed or needed an update? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds like the laptop may have slept in the middle of a save. First thing to try would be test-restoring the save from one of the rolling backups - create a new folder with a .lg extension (e.g. "test.lg") in your \Franchise Hockey Manager 6\saved_games folder and copy the contents of either the rs_one or rs_two folders (try the newest one first; if it doesn't work, try the other) in your existing save into it. Then start the game and try to load that "test" league. If it works, you'll know that version is OK, and can copy those files into the main folder of the original save, overwriting the ones there.

Not only did copying neither rs folder over work, they gave me a new, different bug when I tried them: I named the new folder "PHLTest", but when I booted up the game it only showed the save as "PHLT", and then after it failed to load the save, with the same "invalid database version" error, and I closed the game, there was suddenly another new subfolder in the saves folder: "PHLTestest".

Can you upload the save, then, and I'll try to have a look and see what's gone wrong? Uploading instructions for our ftp site are here, or you can put it on a file sharing site like dropbox or Google drive and send me the link.

I already have; it should be in there listed as "PHL - McJohnson".

Looks like there's been some corruption there, a couple of files are missing entirely. If you can upload the rs_one and rs_two folders as well, we may still be able to piece together a working save, though.

Save #2 appears to be viable on its own, so using that is our safest bet: copy all the files in \rs_two into the main folder of the save, replacing the ones that are there, and then load it. That may move your game's current date back a bit from where it was, but it's stable now - I was able to complete the 28-29 season with no problems.

My FHM 6 game crashed and disappeared. I don't know what happened to it. the system deleted the game and I can't find it or get it back. It is not in my save folder. Is there a system restore to bring the game back. I tried the rs_one and rs_two to restore to a earlier date but that don't seem to help. The game I was playing is not in my save folder. PLEASE HELP
