Shifting back to asking for things in the game way too late:
It would be very cool to have the option to give arenas both bigger than AND smaller than NHL sized surfaces and to have those options have some slight effect on the game. There are a significant number of pro rinks I have been to in the Northeast alone that have had teams over the years and have a small surface. I’d love to be able to utilize this in a game in a similar way to OOTP’s ballpark options.

imagine being able to replay games at the old Boston Garden, such as the game the Oilers/B's played in the 88 finals with the fog and loss of power?

Yep, the Boston Garden is an easy one. I believe the Olympia in Detroit had misshaped corners if I’m remembering old interviews correctly. This would be a great way to bring some of the old arenas to life a little more than you can now.

Making trades for #1 picks easier. It is too hard; the AI wants the sky and the moon. It' unrealistic.

Would be cool if they added some more audio slots like stoppages ect to make it little more authentic

I don’t think it would be realistic to make trading for the #1 pick easier. If it was really an easy thing, why doesn’t it happen? It happened in ‘99, ‘02 & ‘03 but only 1975 before that and not since. Making it hard to do seems way more realistic and fact based.

I agree, in other sports simulation games draft pick trading gets out of control and you can buy your way in and out of the top spots, I like that about this game.

I wonder if he meant the spot or 1st rounders in general.

I agree but also disagree, I've definitely been turned down when I've offered McDavid, Draisaitl and like 2 4-5* prospects and a 1st round pick for a top 5 pick which only have a guy like Shane Wright in the draft... and the weird part is you can trade for his rights right after with worse trade value for them..
Edit* I also would retain salary for the players too, thats just a deal youd be stupid to pass up on but the AI act like they are being robbed.

This is a fair point, but if you’re talking about tinkering the system while maintaining realism and accuracy, the adjustments would have to be EXTREMELY slight to stay within the realm of reality. Like I mentioned before, trading the top pick has literally only happened 4 times in the whole history of the draft.
Adjusting value of player rights vs pick used to acquire said player would be a nice thing to figure out, though I find it much less of a “game-breaker” than the constant trading of top picks.

Would really like a "Live Rosters" feature like that in OOTP.

More friendly for online leagues. With exportable stats for league websites.

Also the ablility set lineups and goalies for a week at a time so you can export and control your lineups for online leagues.

In sandbox historical mode, there is a glitch:

A team offers a contract to your RFA, but they no longer have the draft picks necessary to make give the compensation, they keep offering that RFA a contract every day even though they don't have the compensation required to do so

Thanks.

Acknowledging that these matters are subjectiveÂ…

I guess that I am in the minority. My feeling is that the priority should be on refinement and QoL, not additional features and customization options. I believe that the state of the current game reflects a disproportionate emphasis on the latter. Eight complete versions and widespread feedback concerning ongoing issues as fundamental as whether goalies matter, hits, giveaways and takeaways. Similarly, insufficient explanations of how attributes actually work, tactics and roles, etc. Numerous typos, inexplicable interface navigation restrictions, lack of table and view preference accommodation (for example, having to reset column width and so forth every time you switch the reference team or otherwise leave the current table page).
Moreover, it is debatable whether some of the new features are net positives or negatives, given the limited resources with which the team has to work. Introducing a complicated financial model that the AI cannot adequately navigate, for example, just induced an immersion-puncturing raft of unrealistic and senseless front office decisions.
I cannot blame the developers, because threads like this show that they are responding to the desires of a majority of their customer base- each member of whom has an opinion as meaningful as mine. I just feel that layering on top of an incomplete foundation is the wrong way to move forward.

I agree in principle but, as I am sure you know, it is a business and customers (especially new ones) don't want to hear the developers only refined everything from last year. We always see the "should I buy the new version or stick with the current one" posts and NHL license fees alone mean they have to increase the customer base each year.

And this is coming from someone who really wants a fix to the waiver workaround, goalie fatigue/rotation, and a few other things more than new features that don't affect how I play the game.

As I said, I have no grievance with TV he developers acting in a manner that best meets market demand. I just wish that the market demand was more in line with my own.

I do wonder, however, how large of a silent minority exists that, like myself, represents at least a potential LOST new or previous member of that customer base.
