A Break in the Action
I have to take a momentarily break in the project until I figure out why my game is suddenly crashing. I never had this problem, having owned 4 previous additions of Out of the Park Baseball.
It's a little frustrating, so if anyone has any experience with this or solutions to the problem, please let me know. I appreciate it, thank you. |

World War II
By the spring of 1944, the countryside of Great Britain had become a gigantic camp for allies, while serving as a supply depot. Over the previous year, the Americans and British had gained the upper hand over Nazi U-Boats in the Atlantic Ocean, and their planes had destroyed most of Adolf Hitler's air force. The Allies are now preparing for Operation Overlord. Allied troops would cross the English Channel and invade Nazi-occupied France. This would force Hitler to fight a two-front war, since the Russian Allied force was keeping most of the German army busy in eastern Europe. Operation Overload would require incredibly detailed planning, as well as perfect coordination and timing. General Dwight D. Eisenhower was the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force (AEF). There was only a few days each month when the tides were right for the invasion, while storms moved out of the North Sea and into the English Channel. Decisions by Eisenhower had to precise with the Allies avoiding bad weather when possible. Secrecy was also vital to the mission. Hitler's forces had built a wall of concrete bunkers and gun emplacements along the French coast, while they had tank traps, mines, and miles and miles of barbed wire. |

1944 Prospects Pipeline
A quick explanation: My OOTP 21 which I was originally using for this project, kept crashing (which has never happened to me, through different versions of the game)... So I am continuing this project on OOTP 20 (since I don't have 22' or 23'), there are some things I don't have such as OOTP21's real "Prospects Pipeline".
So I had to improvise... The Prospects Pipeline (Sort of ![]() 1) DUKE SNIDER - RF Brooklyn Dodgers 17-year-old Duke Snider sits at the top of 1944's Top Prospects list. Snider currently plays at Single-A ball for the Zanesville Dodgers in the Ohio State League. He has the potential for a prototypical clean-up hitter. This young man possesses a very good hitting tool. He is very sure-handed and reliable right fielder. Snider has the potential to be a cornerstone player at his position. 2) SHERM LOLLAR - C Cleveland Indians Cleveland Indians' catcher Sherm Lollar is a 19-year-old right-handed hitter. He is an elite defender as a catcher. He has a plus power ceiling. At maturity he should have an above average eye at the plate. Lollar can be a second division starter at catcher, and could make an immediate impact for the Indians as early as this season. 3) ANDY SEMINICK - C Philadelphia Phillies The 23-year-old right-handed hitting catcher Andy Seminick of the Philadelphia Phillies, has tremendous power potential. Once he matures, he should have an above average eye. Seminick projects to be an above average big league catcher. 4) RED SCHOENDIENST - SS St. Louis Cardinals The defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals are expecting the 21-year-old shortstop Red Schoendienst to make an impact on their team. He knows how to use his speed on the field. He can make hard contact which should allow him to hit around .350. Red is still maturing, and while his power projects to only be league average, he should be an above average player for years to come in a Cards uniform. 5) EDDIE LOPAT - SP Chicago White Sox Eddie Lopat enters the season as this year's top pitching prospect. The 25-year-old southpaw from New York can top out at 88-90 mph on the radar gun. When he is fully developed, his repertoire should include a fastball, screwball, curveball, knuckle curve, and changeup. He pounds the zone and has good movement on his pitches which should keep the ball in the ballpark. Lopat still has room for growth, and should fill in a mid-rotation slot some day. 6) SMOKY BURGESS - C
Chicago Cubs The 17-year-old backstop Smoky Burgess currently plays in the Piedmont League for the Portsmouth Cubs. He has potential to make consistent hard contact. He has decent power now and has the chance to have above average power in the future. He offers consistent, if unspectacular, defense. Burgess has the talent to flourish in the majors. 7) CASS MICHAELS - SS Chicago White Sox The lean and athletic, 18-year-old Cass Michaels hails from Detroit, Michigan. He projects to be able to consistently put the barrel of the bat on the ball. He has potential to draw a fair number of walks. He has the potential to be an above average power hitter. Michaels can be a second division starter at shortstop. 8) DICK WILSON - 1B Chicago White Sox Dick Wilson currently plays in the Southern Association for the Little Rock Travelers. The 21-year-old has plus raw power potential and has the chance to be a run producer. He should have an above average eye once he hits maturity. His speed is below average, but he picks his spots while stealing an average number of bases. Wilson could be a second division starter. 9) RUSS MEYER - SP Chicago Cubs Russ Meyer is a starting pitcher for the Nashville Volunteers of the Southern Association (AA). He throws a fastball, curveball, and changeup. His stuff should play well above average once he's finished developing. Also has great command of his pitches that he'll rarely give up a long-ball. Projects to be a 5th starter for most rotations. 10) JOE P. COLEMAN - RP Chicago White Sox As the 4th Chicago White Sox player to make the Top 10 Prospects list, Joe P. Coleman is a finesse pitcher who hails from Medford, New Jersey. He projects to throw a below-average fastball with two lesser pitches. When he's on he's unhittable, but he's susceptible to the long-ball and wandering command. Coleman has enough traits to develop into a back-end rotation option. |

1944 MLB Off-Season
MLB Uniforms for the 1944 MLB Season
AMERICAN LEAGUE NATIONAL LEAGUE Once again with the jerseys, there wasn't much changes for the 1944 MLB Season. The Chicago Cubs' road jerseys, I believe are different. One big change, I decided not to do the weird Philadelphia Blue Jays thing. It's just so weird, and I decided to jump ahead to their next set. I felt there was too much blue going on already, and although the Philadelphia Phillies' jerseys got a bit of blue, they have red still, and they only get more red as the years go by. |

1944 MLB Predictions
The Cleveland Indians made a late charge at the American Pennant last season, but fell short. Can this be the year that Cleveland dethrones the New York Yankees in the American League?
Meanwhile, the defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals look really tough in the National League, with no team looking like an immediate threat. We could be in for a repeat this season, we'll have to wait and see. |
