Fictional League with Real Historical League? - Page 3

Strange thing but even headed into 1905 I can't find Ty Cobb. I see his player screen only by clicking on him in the draft where Worcester took him #1. But he's now 18 and it's 1905 and I don't see him anywhere in the Worcester minors on any level. It says Texas Tech University, does that mean that in the game he decided to go to college and not start on the MLB yet?

If that is the case, will he reenter the draft when he graduates? I think that's how it works in real MLB but I honestly can't remember.

It has him as coming in via the 1907 Draft. Go to the Rookie Draft page, top right hand corner there is a dropdown menu with a few future classes. Go to 1907 and he'll be there.

My presumption here is that Worcester didn't sign him after they drafted him so he "went back to college". Go to the history tab of his profile, it should have all of this listed.

If you want him to move up to the next Draft rather than '07, go into Commish mode, then into the editor on his profile, then about halfway down the left side you'll see this

In DRAFT CLASS, just put the Draft year you want, or 0 if just the next one.

I moved to free agency at the end of 1908 which has definitely been interesting so far but i am wondering, what levers do i have to make it a little less extreme. That is, a bit less player movement. I increased to 8 years the time until free agency kicks in. Anything else i can do? I enjoy FA more than reserve clause but if players move around too much it is hard for me to keep track of what players are with which clubs...

When you pushed back the FA did it also automatically push back arb eligibility?

A couple suggestions to tinker with that might help.

Turn AI trade frequency right down. (RULES)

Make the max duration of a contract 10 years and enable contract extensions. (FINANCIALS)
