Why is my batting order not being followed?
I am GM and Manager and have control of lineups and depth charts, but I sim every game. I have set depth chart and batting orders, and it seems randomly the batting order will be completely ignored, but the depth chart is adhered to. Daily lineups are off. How can I avoid this without having to play out every game? Really annoying.

Won't this then ignore my depth chart and never substitute tired players? The behavior I want is for my bench players to take the same lineup spot as the player they're replacing, not for my whole batting order to be messed up if there's a substitution. Or even better I'd like to be able to set the batting order if someone from my regular line up is subbed out.

The effectiveness of this depends on how far you sim ahead. What do you actually do? I sim one day at a time.

I usually do a series at a time by just clicking the checkmark 3 days in a row, then go back and look at box scores. Does the daily lineups tell you if someone is tired, or automatically sub someone if you have someone set to back them up if they're tired?

If you are wanting to sim ahead, use depth charts, and keep your players in the exact same lineup positions even when subs are being used then you are likely going to need to utilize the "Force Lineup Spot" player strategy settings for your starters.

Got it. So that setting wouldn't force them to play when tired, but it would force their backup to play in the same lineup spot?

By itself it won't place the bench player in the same lineup spot, but if all of your starters are locked into their lineup spots that is the only place for the bench players to go. |
