It seems, from the outside looking in, that regions may be easy to implement because you already offer regions at the league creation screen, but I may be reading too much into it.

Perhaps a two-tiered list, of the first level a nation percentage that stays at the established player creation percentages per region at present, and a second level per region that allows customization for the regions per country.

I recognize this is a very niche request. Great work once again.

I really like the updates to GUI and graphics. They are subtle but I think they look very sharp.

Wolverine’s DDS football and games have pro and college separated into two separate games. We manually export college graduates into our pro leagues’ drafts if we choose to. I don’t know for sure, but it might be easier as far as coding is concerned to think about having it work as two separate league files rather than trying to get a college league to work in a custom game.

I guess now it's pretty much essential now that you know what tactics you want to run and build your team around those tactics. That is if you want players to fit those tactics.

Special abilities

UI Changes
-added new options to the player filter: Hand, Special Ability, Major Role, Supplementary Role, Local Popularity, International Popularity, Min/Max Weight, Min/Max Height


Hi, Jeff (or anyone else who knows the answer) I just started playing FHM9 and was wondering if there's an answer to what the impact of the special abilities are and a list or way to find out what they do. Some are pretty explanatory i.e. soft passer, great deke. but some like "suitcase" or "blind in right eye" I'm not sure what they would do. It's a pretty specific thing, but I like to tinker with every setting possible.

Can you sim to period or set length?
For some reason this was removed and i am waiting to buy until it is put back in.
I do not have time IRL to playout every game.
It should be just like OOTPB where you can sim to goal, minute, period, injury, penalty etc

If you set the Watch Mode to No Highlights and click Play, it'll sim to the end of the period and stop there (you'll probably want the Quick Sim speed on "Very Fast.") It can also be stopped at any point by clicking Stop while it's simming. Once it's stopped, if you want to view the game from that point on, choose a different Watch Mode and hit Play again, and the gameplay will be shown again.

There's a tooltip describing them on the player screen (Bio tab) if you hover over the ability name, and a list of all of them in the manual at http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...ecialabilities

Can you add an AHL type league to the Custom League set-up from the start which would already include an AHL (which can be edited)?

An example would be: International Hockey League from the 1990s.

Just wanted to start by thank you you all for your time and effort to make my favorite game. This will be my ninth season supporting the project via Steam.

I normally don't normally make any request as I think most people cover everything quite well.

However there was 2 features I've always wanted to see.

1/ The first is, I would love to have the same screen customization like the way you have in OOTP Baseball. Being able to have player stats/ with rating on the same screen would save lots time when manually scouting players. I would also like to have a side side tab with the NHL/AHL/ECHL with major stats GP,GA,PTS,PIM side by side for quick references when injury's happen for call ups

2/ the second is a more condense Rating system. I'm not saying change the scouting screen or remove anything, more just with OVR OFF/DEF rating similar to the original East coast hockey simulator. Its good when looking at multiple players and need a scoring forward vs a 3/4th line grinder to just see what type players is before deep diving.

I think people are looking for staggered playoff schedule in the game. Right now all of the playoff games are played on a single day, instead of games being spread out each day during the playoffs.

They aren't scheduled properly. The NHL doesn't play 8 games on opening night of the playoffs and then none the next night, and it continues. 8 games, no games, 8 games, no games. Same thing for the next round. 4 games, no games next day, then 4 games, then no games next day.

The worse one yet for me was an historical league. 1962 season, Toronto beats Montreal in one semi-final in 5 games.

Meanwhile, Chicago goes the distance against Detroit in the other semi. The Blackhawks win game 7 in OT in Detroit. The very next day they play game 1 of the final in Toronto. Not even 1 off day between the semis and finals.

Proper schedules are important and should definitely be in this game by version 9.

It means you're able to include them on the training screen (afaik) so you can get a boost to their attributes that way. It may also be too high a level of competition for them, which is not a positive thing over a sustained period so if that's the case they're better of spending the rest of the year at a lower level. I usually include my young guys plus a couple of TO filler guys too, just to stop an injuries from fatigue and also to blood the young guys a bit.
