Cannot sign u21 players (free agents) from other nations (Euro side issue)
Managing an European club, trying to sign u21 player from the free agent pool. If player's nationality is a foreign one, I get a popup message: "xxx hockey association will not approve the transfer of this player due to his young are".
This might be a valid reason for NA clubs, but such rules shouldn't be enforced on European clubs. If a Finnish club tries to sign a Danish u21 free agent, the transfer can't be blocked as it would violate free movement of workforce from EU country to another. IRL, even 15-16 year old youngsters move from countries such as Denmark or Czechia to develop in top Scandinavian junior leagues. |

I think we originally did that to prevent e.g. UK teams from grabbing prospects from major countries. But I think we need an exception there for the countries (Sweden in particular) that attract a lot of U20 players from elsewhere in Europe.
