Very disappointing decision 2.0

So am I right to believe , that since the purposeful damaging of our product, and no communication, the devs sole reach out was for moderators to protect the game mod content? The content they use to help push sales of the game? The content that creators provide for free? The content that led to the recent license issue? The content that if wasn't there would dramatically alter their financial future?

No, you're not right to believe that. But it's pretty clear why you're pretending that's what CONN CHRIS said.

I'm sure if the devs instead told the moderators to nuke every thread that contained any trade of [redacted] you'd be up in arms about them ruining your personal save by making it impossible to download those mods anymore, and now that instead we have confirmation that volunteers are taking hours out of their day to only carefully prune out the offending parts and leaving everything else up for the community to continue to use and enjoy, you're pretending that's a great injustice too.

I don't think so. The whole thread in question was removed. The mod I mentioned cared a lot about its content and spent the time to save the negro league photos. You are reading communications into my comments that I did not intend which is my fault, there really has been nothing beyond that post from Markus communicated to us.

I have no information which is why I am not going to respond any further, my poorly worded responses can only do more harm as folks read something into that void.

We read the same post, I just didn't go out of my way to parse in the way that makes OOTPD look as bad as possible and instead looked at what was written.

It looked to me like you were denying the facts (that the only communication has centered around mods) rather than the tone. That detachment from the facts would have matched previous comments you've made on the issue. But if you're just disagreeing with the tone, fair enough.

I wonder what the Income $s are for PT vs OOTP... I think, with nothing but guessing behind it, that PT dwarfs OOTP income wise.

There might come a day that OOTP is no longer a sandbox of any sort but nothing but a PT platform...

It's not outside the realm of possibility that when OOTP was acquired, the parent company knew this could happen to bankrupt them, and had a part. And then they keep the IP. Happens all the time. Speculation of course.

People complaining about a league that 95% of them never even played in saying that their "hard work" was "corrupted" is laughable. We are all not happy about the decision they made and the execution to how they did it. But to continue to post about "moving a league to South Africa" or calling people names isn't going to do anything but feed the trolling.

Yep. I'm disappointed, too. I understand the legal reasons as to why this was done. It just sucks for all of the OOTP players who have worked so hard at saving and backing up games for seasons have the entire history of Japanese League Baseball erased and rewritten with teams from South Africa. This is not a slight against South Africa.

I also noticed that the World Baseball Classic still has Japan. I'm guessing this is because the World Baseball Classic doesn't fall under the same copyright rules as any Japanese Baseball League.

I backed up and saved my game to a thumb drive, just in case. But tonight I imported said game and got the South African teams.

It especially sucks because my league is having a great season with incredible statistics and I was looking forward to seeing which Japanese baseball players get posted after the season. I was hoping that maybe we could land Tomoyuki Sugano. Not gonna happen now because he doesn't exist in this game.

This is nothing personal against anyone affiliated with OOTP whether it be the employees or customers. Markus and his team are good people and I know they're just as disappointed, if not more so, than we are.

That defeatist attitude is exactly how consumers get screwed over. If you want to make the world a better place, join the call for change. I'm not delusional enough to think we have significant power, but the employees within OOTP who are fighting for consumers (who I assume do still exist) can use threads like this one when they internally argue on our behalf.

I didn't know the concept of "customer feedback" was new to anybody, but it's worth looking up if you haven't heard of it.
