Pitcher Overalls in the game declining after ~3 years

I read this somewhere else and now experienced myself:
The overall ratings for pitchers take a sharp decline after about 3 years.

At the beginning of the 2026 season, there are only two 5 Star Pitchers in the league (Edwin Diaz, Luis Vargas) and three 4.5 Star Pitchers (Devin Williams, Emmanuel Clase, Andres Munoz).

There are 0 Starting Pitchers with more than 4 Stars.

This is my Pitching Staff:

Pitchers are actually improving their stuff/movement/control, yet are losing a star or half a star in overall rating all before the 2026 season.

I could go on and on, basically every pitcher on my staff lost at least half a star and hovers around 3 stars and it seems like every pitcher in the league has as well.
