Player age in historical drafts

I was trying to do sim starting from the late 1950s until the 1967 Expasion, when I was planning to take over some of the new teams. I noticed that in the 1963 and 1964 drafts the age of the players available was 17-19, even though players historically drafted these years were 16.

I'm guessing that was set because players are generated in the game when they are 17?

Yeah, that's exactly why. I'm thinking about trying a 16-year-old starting age for historical in FHM10, though, so if we do that I'll go back and adjust those drafts.

If you do some changes in Historical on age I would like a third option on when the players pop into the game.
Today you got Option 1 as everyone in as 17 years old and ready for a draft, even if some of those players didn't enter drafts for many years later.
2nd option is they just pop up into teams when they did IRL, so no draft for the gamer.

The added option I think should be they pop up when they got drafted or entered any WHA or NHL league, BUT in a proper draft that you as a player can be in, not just dropping them in their teams.

Kind of like OOTP.
(The problem there is that players like Ichiro Suzuki, pop up as older players in the youth draft, but that is another matter)
But when the Iron Curtain fell we initially had the same issue, with players like Vaclav Nedomansky and all the Soviet players. Nedomansky should be available in 1974, for both WHA and NHL not back in 1961 when he was 17 years old. Nobody knew a thing about him back then.
If he could be added just as a free agent in 1974 that would have been the ultimate option. That goes for all those defected players, but I'm sure that is hard to do.
