Modified Extra Innings
I would like to see an option to use it, but not until the 12th inning. There are dropdown choices for roster sizes and all kinds of things, so it wouldn't be too hard to have an inning selector for the "ghost runner" to go into effect. Anyone else with me?

I'm for it. I wish MLB would adopt a similar approach. Even playing the 10th inning with normal rules before adding the runner would be an improvement. I absolutely hate the rule, but I have to accept that they aren't going back to the way it was before. That won't stop me from yelling at clouds about it until my last breath though.

The rule is an insult to the game. One of the very best things about OOTP is turning it off.
With my strong feelings, it’s hard to support the option to use after the XX inning. But, in a rational world, maybe playing out hundreds of seasons with the option at various innings might yield data that could be used to persuade MLB to back off? Seriously, the first MLB game I attended with the lousy rule, I just wanted to leave. A scoreless game; but I didn’t want to be a part of an arcade game. Why would I want something I am thoroughly enjoying to be over sooner, played under different rules than for the first nine innings, or the first 150 years, for that matter?

Now that most games are considerably shorter, it would be great for MLB to reconsider and return to "real" baseball rules rather than rushing to get the Extra Innings games over. Sadly, the way pitchers are managed now, I don't think there is any going back. Teams all want to keep their players as fresh as possible during the regular season and playing a few less innings here and there helps them do that. The rule takes away all the magic of extra innings games though. Watching a game and not knowing whether it was going to last 10, 12, 15, or 18 innings was one of my absolute favorite things about baseball. Now I absolutely despise extra innings games and am very rarely satisfied with the result, whether my favorite team wins or not. Rob Manfred will tell you that a majority of people love the new rule, but he's pretty good at telling people whatever he wants you to believe.
