Sketchup tips? For in-play bullpens...

I've found an older version of Sketchup 2020 that works on my computer. Right now I'm only interested in one thing: adding in-play (foul territory) bullpens to historical ballparks that had them. I have a few different bullpen png images I've created that should work, but having a heck of a time trying to figure it out. Specifically, aligning the bullpens parallel to the foul lines where necessary, and the size of the bullpens (getting the correct distance between the bullpen's pitcher's slabs and home plates). I realize I'm a dinosaur and it'll take me a while to fully utilize what sketchup has to offer when it comes to creating a ballpark; right now I'm only wanting to figure out how to add in-play bullpens. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Unfortunately, even adding a small thing would involve opening the SKP file, make your modeling changes, OBJexport it - pretty much all the steps needed as if you are building an entire stadium from the ground up (just faster because the "modeling" portion is only adding bullpen on top of an existing structure).

Also, depending how a particular ballpark was built, either you can simply change a texture, or you have to add new geometry with sketchup tools. I always recommend to see Silvam's tutorial videos and just practice with a simple ballpark from start to finish. Most 3D modders here learned that way.

There is no easy way. You got to understand the whole process. Otherwise, certain things may not work and you wouldn't be able to figure out why.

I can send you a model I’ve made for bull pens if you’d like.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/u2evx...model.zip/file This is a link to a .skp file that you can open, copy the bullpen (I've made it into a grouped object to make it simpler), and then paste it into the .skp model you want to work with. I like to build everything from scratch (because I'm crazy like that) so the dimensions should already be correct. But of course, feel free to use it as you see fit.

Thanks, it was created with a newer version of sketchup than the one my old computer can handle/run, but I'll save it to use on another device.
