Not understanding playoffs

I need some help please.

I have a league of 24 teams, divided up into two conferences with each conference having 2 divisions. I would like my playoff structure to have two teams from each division in quarterfinals then a conference final then the finals. Well I can never get this to work right. Every playoff season each conference gets seeded so I have just one team from one division and three teams from the other division. What do I need to do to get this the way I want it, or is this just the way hockey works.

With that setup, it's not possible to force 4 teams per division in custom mode right now. But the "16 teams, 4 per Div (NHL 1987-1997)" system (selectable under type) should give you what you want.

Hey Jeff was going to ask,

Are there plans in the near future to add customization to the Playoff format?

Would be cool to make playoff formats of all different sizes from 12 teams to 14 teams or 18 teams etc..
