I'm guessing it's because you have the historical recalc turned on for ratings, and Sisler didn't play in his age 30 season so he has no statistics for that season to base his ratings on.

I think snepp nailed it. This kind of thing will happen during the War years for players too. Electing to use 3/yr and 5/yr recalc options smooth out the stats to help with this but they can be extreme with single year recalc on.

From your manager options home page, enable Commissioner mode, League Settings, Historical sub heading, right hand side, Historical Player Ratings. Ratings Recalc Base
