Sim Speed Mid Game

Hi. I am in year 2066, and sim speeds have got to almost an unplayable level. Are there any settings I can change to help with this?

I understand having the lesser leagues sim in a contributor to this, but it doesn't appear this setting can be changed mid-game.

Any ideas?

Are you on the classic sim engine for all games? That tends to speed it up a bit.

Yes I am

I imagine the database just gets too big after 35+ years. Or something like that.

We haven't seen this in our own testing, but we're looking into another report of this. If you could upload that save, it may be helpful in tracking down whatever the cause is. The growth of the amount of data will slow things a bit, but it shouldn't reach the point where it's slowing the speed to a really noticeable extent.

See this thread: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=341827 - it has a few different options for uploading.

Got it, thanks. Definitely slower than normal, still trying to work out the cause. It's eating considerably more RAM than I'd expect, but I have plenty in my system so it's nowhere near the point where a slowdown from having to use virtual memory would be a problem, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

But we'd made some changes about three years ago that had been holding the memory usage pretty level after it reached a certain point, and I'm seeing about 20% more used in your game than a test game in 2050, which theoretically shouldn't be happening. I'm wondering if something we've added in the last couple of years is responsible for that, and possibly the slowdown as well, so we'll try to figure out where that's coming from and see if it leads to the source of the problem.

It is something that deteriorates with each season, rather than just happened at a certain year. If that helps for any clues.

My machine is a mid level gaming PC with extra RAM that is maybe 18 months old. Will get you the specs if you need, but i would doubt it should be struggling from a hardware perspective.

Im playing FHM 9 and im in the season 2155/2156. I have a solid Ryzen 5 with 16 GB RAM.

And to sim the off-season, from July to season begin, i need ca 3 hours. Ok, its FHM 9, but as you can see, with the time it is slower and slower.

I have an MSI Trident, i7-10700@2.9GHz with a RTX 3060Ti. 32 GB RAM. Nothing special but I would think that should be doing the job...I can play most games on it without issue.

And I feel your pain on the off-season change...takes forever. Also something about Nov 7th too for some odd reason.

That's an insanely long save lol, nice work. How many hours did it take you to get that far in?

Here another bugs with long save:

- NHL draft is for some reasons very slow. From pick to pick i have to wait and wait and wait...

- Player profile. When i want to see player details, one card (Bio) makes issues. Also i have to wait very long time to see, when he was drafted....

Confirm both those issues with my save as well, in case those are not known issues across accounts.

An additional slowness that happens: Basically becomes impossible to go to the staff or scouting screens. Talking multiple minute hangups.
