Shifting strategy for flyball pitchers

I'm sure there are a couple schools of thought on this and am curious what the best strategy is.

Here's the scenario : Flyball pitcher (not extreme)
individual settings -> overriding team strategy settings
I set infield shifts to +3 (using 0 as the mid point), outfield shifts to +1

My thought is if the pitcher is a flyball pitcher, he will give up more flyballs... and less grounders. Thus the success chance the shift will be successful on a grounder will be higher because they are less prevalent than flyballs. Conversely the shift success percentage will be lower on flyballs because there will be more of them. By success percentage I mean the percent of time the shift works and does not get beat.

Is my logic correct or backwards?

I am having a friendly debate with a friend and would like to hear from the community if I am crazy or not. Thanks in advance
