Independent league players getting MLB service time
I created a 16 team independent leage where non drafted and released players can go to play instead of sitting in FA.
I checked and saw that these players are receiving MLB service time. I don't want this skewing things on the chance they are picked up by an MLB team and have an accelerated time to arbitration etc. How do I prevent the Indy league players from accruing MLB service time? Unfortunately that's just how OOTP is designed. All unaffiliated leagues will have service time. Best to not think of it as "MLB" service time.
What you probably want to do so that indy time doesn't count for MLB time, go into the MLB financial settings, ensure that you select the option: "Reset Service Time for FAs signed from other leagues".
