Hey fellas getting closer!

I’ve updated the MLB draft order with recent updates.

I’ve also ran through transactions on MLB.com to try and capture any and all minor league free agent signings by teams. High probability some have been missed though.

There was a trade and FA signing today. Probably be a rush of them soon as you post, right? It's gonna be that way though, no matter when you post. Really looking forward to the new file. I've played the heck out of the last one you put up. Thanks so much for doing this.

Just FYI on Shohei Ohtani…

Only way I can get OOTP to play him in 2024 is to remove his arm injury, take away his movement and control, and give him experience in LF.

Otherwise with “real” injury OOTP puts him on 60 Day IL all season, and if he doesn’t have defense outside of P, it releases him

It’s the best work around I could figure out

When I post file I’ll post special instructions on Ohtani’s pitching info to edit back in for 2025 season when he’s healed up.

A few notes when you start....

*** IMPORTANT STEPS !!! ***

- After you select your team, you will need to go to team settings, enable CPU AI to make changes. It is currently set to off so I could update rosters.

- Game file is set to first day of preseason. You can option to either play Spring Training or not. If you want to disable, in settings disable Spring Training.

- Right before the season starts (usually when the game "generates preseasons") make sure to change the modifiers to the image below. This will ensure results fairly close to 2023 season. Hits will be a little higher, but Stolen bases, Doubles, and Homeruns should be close.

- Scouting is ON. If you want to see the actual ratings, you will need to turn scouting off and enable ratings and overall/potential.

- MOST IMPORTANTLY....HAVE FUN!!

When you start seasons please post teams you may want to select in this post.
I plan to start my personal season once a few more of the big free agents sign such as Snell, Belli, Montgomery, Soler, etc.

If anyone wants a special challenge, please try out the Oakland A's. Do not pick up any players off waivers, set trades to the hardest setting. With Fan interest of "1", market size as Tiny, an owner that doesn't spend money, AND values profits over winning....should be fun for those who want an ultimate challenge.

Is there anyway to import spring training schedule for this season of 2024 or do you have to manually put it in game via edit league schedule?

If you sim a few days OOTP will auto gen a generic Spring Training schedule if you leave enabled.

If any of the schedule gurus out there may be able to create?

Would be cool in the future if OOTP divided up teams to real Cactus and Grapefruit leagues for Spring!

Love this file, but in both editions I have had an issue with my facegens. They all appear with a whited-out chalky look - even the black players. I tried doing an update of all facegens but it didn't help. But if I go into a player's profile and edit him to regenerate the same picture it fixes it. That's a lot of work though. I basically go through the roster each time I play a new team and update player by player. Anyone else seen this issue or have any idea what setting I might need to change. I have never had this issue on any other starts I have (and I have quite a few). I believe I am using the "complete universe facegen pack" found in the mods, if that makes a difference.

I’m not certain what causes this…my file is created on a Mac so maybe the Facegen are in different locations versus PC? Not sure offhand

Yes!

For Ohtani after the 2024 season:

Update his ratings to below:

Stamina: 125
Hold Runners: 100
Raw Movement: 105
Control: 115

I’d also move his LF defense down. Not sure exact number.
