Anyone having issue importing OOTP22 League on MAC??

Every time I go to the import - it does not show the folders under users with OOTP22 files. Am I missing something - Ive looked all over the place on how to import.

This is just how Mac designs things to compartmentalize games.

You'd need to manually copy the save from your OOTP 22 saves folder to the OOTP 23 save folder, or another OOTP 23 folder and then load it from there.

In the past though it was easy to load from the game - nonetheless thanks!

Not since Mac changed this a couple years ago. Before that, yes. But it's been like this for a year or two now. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about this, it's entirely and completely a (intentional) limitation of Mac's OS.

On the import, all of the logos, graphics and uniforms should copy over as well, correct? Although I believe any custom stadiums that I'm using, I will have to re-install?

yeah trying to find the folders is proving futile - you get almost to the end of the extensions and then the Application support folder does not show up for OOTP23 - following the path for OOTP23

If you go to settings > troubleshooting > then click the button to 'open folder containing saved game data' that should automatically open the OOTP 23 save game folder in your finder.

I believe that the OOTP23 folders on Macs are hidden. Do you have to press the options key to get to "library"?

Another good way to keep easy access to this is to put the customizable data folder into your dock.

That's a really good tip. I usually just keep it open on my computer, but sometimes I do accidentally close it, and then it's a pain to retrieve again.

The new files are in an entirely different place on my Mac. Instead of the familiar path through user and app support, now I follow a wandering path through library and container and a few other bewildering steps (thanks, Apple!) to the OOTP 23 files. Only my intense desire to play OOTP 23 kept me at it. That focus paid off, the existing seasons survived the import, and I can wait a bit for the stadiums.

For the new season, I decided to expand, with teams in Buffalo (the Wings) and Charlotte (the Stingers). Plus the Pirates finally gave up on Pittsburgh and moved to the Big Easy and became the Buccaneers, now with loads of financial support from the bitcoin billionaires who bought the team. And the sad Rays made good on their move to Montreal and are now the Mounties, playing in a retractable roof palace at Parc Jarry. And the A’s abandoned Oakland for San Jose and new Pied Piper Ballpark, which fans of “Silicon Valley” will understand.

This tip made it a breeze. I was able to import my 22 save into 23 very easily last night. I saw that you can also open folder containing customizable data, so installing custom uniforms and ballparks are easy too.

Man, importing OOTP 22 leagues to OOTP 23 is incredibly frustrating. There has to be an easier way. I've been at it for 45 minutes and I have to walk away and come back later.

Having issues now as well.
I've tried manually copying the world.dat file over as well as the saves .lg file.
Everything results in the game crashing and I have to start all over again.

In the past, it's been pretty straight-forward of copying the files, importing from previous version, etc.

But for '23, it's been hell.

Welp, I've had enough.
It won't import/upgrade from OOTP because of space issues.
I have 28GB of space. How much does this app need?
And because MAC OS hates its users, I can't even search in the "Other" storage, which is taking up close to 80GB of data, to clean it out.

Everytime I try the process over again, it takes over an hour as the game tries to import a bunch of crap. Then it crashes again because 'not enough space'.

I understand that there are limitations to importing from a previous game due to MACs OS, but it would be very helpful (video perhaps??) of one of the devs showing a MAC user how they can import an old game into the new version.

I am seconds away from deleting this app on my Macbook and never playing it again.

Easiest way I have done it.

1. In OOTP22, go to Settings-->Troubleshoot-->Open folder containing Saved Games
2. In OOTP23, do the same
3. Copy .lg folder from the 2022 Saved Games folder to the 2023 Saved Games folder.
4. Re-name this file within the OOTP23 folder (assuming you want your imported league name to be what it was previously) to something different.
5. From OOTP23 start screen, click Import OOTP22 Game
6. It should open your 23 Saved Games folder which has your copied league folder.
7. Select the league folder you copied over.

Once the import is complete I would recommend deleting the copied folder to avoid later confusion.

This finally worked but I had to go back into the file path from the start and click through to 25. Massive pain in the ass. Thank you for your help!
