Do I need to adjust league total modifiers to account for games and number of teams?

i'm starting a fictional league based on the 2005 settings. Once I select that year for the settings, do I need to adjust the league total modifiers of the stats at all to account for the fact that my league only has 20 teams? And for the minors the seasons are only 140 games, so for minor leagues do I need to adjust the numbers also?

No, you don't. It's about the proportion of each stat to the others, not the raw numbers.

As long as they're set to a good overall level that gives the expected performance you're looking for, you can add or remove any amount of teams from the league and keep these the same.
