What is the LOCK symbol next to a person's name on the roster list?

It means that the "lock to team/enable strategies" setting has been toggled on their strategy page.

Thanks; I didn't know that either. Maybe you know these:
-What are the buttons at the far left of each player on the Rosters & Transactions screen?
-Is there a way to get to minor league teams' Pitching and Lineups screens besides from the Team Home Screen?

The buttons are for doing multiple selections. Like if you wanted to scout 10 players that were in a list, you could select each of them, right click, and ask for scouting report (rather than doing it individually x10). Also useful for adding multiple players to a shortlist, or offering minor league contracts in bulk.

When you're on your team pitching/hitting screens, you can click on your team name (the big one, not the little one in the top menu). It'll open a dropdown menu where you can quickly switch between the teams in your organization while staying on the same screen.
