Is there a way to stop the computer from auto promoting players to spring training. I would prefer to choose myself. I control everything else so not sure why this keeps happening.

I keep changing the Cleveland team back to the Indians and the game keeps switching it to Guardians. Why?
Nobody is offended in my league. Is this game refusing to allow me to do this?

I suppose if you set the ST roster size to 25 you wouldn't get any auto promotions. Then after ST starts you could reset the size and promote who you want. However, you'd need to check AI controlled teams to be certain they detected the change and increase their ST roster size.

Concerning constantly having to change the name back to Indians, your efforts show the futility in trying to impede progress.

The game should not dictate what team names can be used for my own personal game. Especially when you begin a historical world and its 1962 and they were the INDIANS. At least be accurate and make the change in 2022. Sorry, Bob Feller did not just get inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Guardians.

Would you prefer that OOTP willfully break their licensing agreement with the MLB and end up with no licensed materials in the game of any kind?

This is not the game forcing you to use Guardians (true, MLB's license forces OOTP to have a default setup that alters is not historical). Rather, it's the same as if you wanted to change the 1962 Los Angeles team to Bums instead of Dodgers. When you advance to 1963, the game looks at the structure of MLB and keeps it lined up. Or if you wanted to keep the Expos from becoming the Washington Nationals (it will revert to the Nats as soon as the game transitions from postseason to offseason).

I don't have this problem; once I change it, it stays (if I start a new game it is initially Guardians.until I change it).
