FHM10 - Detroit Dominates, is this right?

I don't know what I did but this first season with Detroit in FHM10 was way too easy. We were so dominate that I believe something is wrong.

This was just a standard game and I didn't change anything from defaults that I can remember. Is there a difficulty level that I missed?

I had my assistant setup the org and the only thing I did through the season was manage lines when there were injuries. I adjusted the tactics just basing it on how many players it was great/good for versus bad.

Most of my team are in the tops of the stats. We out shot each team by nearly double every game. My goalies were horrible but somehow we managed to score more goals most of the time.

I've attached a screenshot of the final standings. We beat all teams in the playoffs 4 games to 1 except the conference finals against the Rangers, they managed to win 2 games.

It almost wasn't fun because there wasn't a challenge. The challenge now is they all think they deserve massive contracts.

Did I do something wrong or is there something I can adjust to make it more realistic?

I don't know if there is problem or not but if it continues you could give your team a lower voluntary salary cap than all the other teams.

The official salary cap would be the same as all the other teams but you could volunatrily keep to a lower salary cap.

I'm assuming you're simming the games and not playing them out, correct?

If so, then the game defaults to simming the users games in the 2D engine and the rest of the league/world in the classic engine. There seems to be a large discrepancy between the two this year that the devs have been attempting to tweak etc. So in my opinion/experience, having your team simmed in the 2D where offense is exponentially higher can result in these sorts of results, I wouild advise going to the sim settings (it's under file/setup options) and then changing it so that either all of the league is simmed in 2D or all of the league is simmed in classic. That part is up to you.

2D is the newer engine but as mentioned offense runs high currently comparative to real life/what seems 'realistic'. Classic is an older (and I'm not sure if it's deprecated at this stage) engine that has reduced offense compared to the 2D.

Hopefully that might help, it's worth a try at least. Good luck!

Yeah, I changed that setting halfway through the season to 2D for league games, classic for all others.

I'm going to go through a new season and see if I experience the same problem. Albeit with slightly different players.
