Historical game always crashes on december 1986

I tried to simulate it a few times, but the savegame always crashes on December 24, 1986.


Is the savegame damaged or is this an already known bug?

Given the date, it's likely an issue with the World Junior Championships, probably some kind of corrupted data since I'm not seeing it when I try a 1986 start. Those are usually pretty easy for us to fix if you can upload the save, although you might want to try one of the backup saves first (copy the files from the rs_one or rs_two subfolders into the save's main folder.)

Thanks for the save. I looked into it and the problem is the NHL/WHA Allstar Game on Dec 24th, Team NHL has no goalie. I´m pretty sure we are able to fix the save for you tomorrow and we will also look into what happens here.

Good news, you can fix your save yourself:

It looks like you selected "Multileague Game" as Allstar Game type for the current season with the WHA (which is inactive). So just select "No Allstar Game" or any other type and the game should go past Dec. 24th.

We were able to fix it but to do so, we needed to "close" the Canada Cup.

Please download the fixed save below. Just unzip the file into the save folder and replace the dat files.

thanks for checking. Unfortunately the save game isn't loading. I replaced the files in data -> save games, but now the game is crashes during loading the save game.
e.g. save game loading: Game crashes when it tries to open/load the first adjusted file (e.g national data)



So still not working.

It's loading when I try the fixed save in a new folder. Try unzipping the file to \saved_games\crash.lg (or whatever you want to call it, just make sure it ends in .lg), that should work and let you continue without a crash.
