This is grim watching them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on a daily basis.

Second half was more like 1:45. Must have been all the runs the 'stros scored.

Javy has a legit chance at scoring the fewest runs in a season, by a person with enough PA to qualify for a batting title.

Tough stretch but still enjoying watching this team despite the recent bullpen issues. Flaherty put in a strong start, Torkelson got off the schnide, and a favorite of my son and I - Akil Baddoo was called up and had a pinch hit triple.

Souring on Wenz quickly though.

Pleased to see that Maeta was placed on the IL with a "viral infection". I had assumed that he had 'developed' a 'blister' while 'throwing on the side' but a 'virus' will do for now.

A second HR from Torkelson wins the game last night. Hope that he has turned the corner.

Tork's on a nice run. 8-game hitting streak, and an OPS of .993 in the seven games before last night.

I mean, I think his season high-water mark is still .670, but there's miles to go as yet.

Even Javy may yet prove usef—no, wait. I think that counts as trolling. My bad.

Why doesn't Detroit give Tyler Holton more innings?

In 83 MLB games, he has a 0.875 WHIP. This are HoF stats.

The Tigers highlight of this game was Jason Benetti bemoaning that his best friends were inanimate objects.

Same, Jason. Same.

Tigers rocked tonight! Tarik looked top notch, and let’s hope the offense has awoken for good.

Ditto

Happy to see Colt Keith progressing. That's all I have at the moment.

Javy, through 150 ABs: .207/.233/.280 1 HR, 21 RBI. 5 BB, 32 whiffs.

Seriously, is he hurt or something? He sucks, but he shouldn't suck this much.

Really nice article in the athletic today about Detroit’s 35-5 start in ‘84.

That was the greatest baseball season I ever watched. So many role players...and just the right sprinkling of stars.

As soon as the Tigers change out of the tighty whities they suddenly start hitting?
