Development/Winter Leagues
I noticed this in the 2024 Manual but could not find any specifics on how to set them up and what the affiliation options there are. Do these need to be set up as separate leagues in an association with my ball clubs? If so, can it be set up so each team in the winter league or leagues has a specific association with each of the teams in my primary league so the AI in the game will automatically assign/send players needing development to the winter league or leagues? If all of this is possible, how do I set it up?
Or am I thinking of something that just isn't possible in OOTP 25? |

For the ones included in the game just keep hitting next and it'll set it all up for you.
Creating your own these are the things you'll have to worry about. The included templates will set it all up for you. |

I was just going to post something similar. Over the years it’s been said “it can be done” by some and “not so much” by others.
Is it easy to set-up? Does it work well ((94 what the intended purposes are…player development?). I’m assuming league reputations will need to be set along with many other factors to get this working right….im assuming it would need to be a tournament rather than a winter league? So in other words, is it pebble to set up winter leagues such as the Dominican (Roberto Clemente) League or the other actual Caribbean Winter Leagues? It’s hard to believe there aren’t any real world league templates out there…yet I don’t think there are

I create a winter league (tournament) Each Caribbean league is a division within the winter league and each team in the division only plays within the division. Teams play about 50 games and the team with the best record in each division goes into the playoffs (Caribbean World Series). For the player selection, players are selected based on regions (I create regions based on state and providence for Cuba; the Cuba league is based on the CEL and the old Super League where each team is a providence acting as 6 different all-star teams) and each team have its own region of players to select from. |

Hmm…that might be a decent way to go about it…at least until (if) there are better options. How do you assign players? Where do the players come from? From all of the major leagues in your universe? How do you control ethnicities (what percentages?). This seems like the hard part to get right. What talent levels? Will the AI sign free agents or not? |

Free agents are selected but they are FA’s that contracts are up during the winter. |

SMJ- to be honest my only real reasons for wanting to implement these leages are this:
1. They are some of the better leagues globally and therefore deserve to be represented for a more immersive experience. 2. I am mostly interested in how they impact MLB (as with all other leagues also). Often MLB organizations will send players to participate in these winter leagues, and I’m looking to deflect this as realistically as possible. I am less concerned with the Caribbean Leagues’ having a tournament, so my question is this…in light of what I am looking to accomplish, is it better to create each winter league (tournament) individually, or do what you originally suggested and having each league represented as a division under one sub league? Edit: Is there a way to control the percentage of player nationalities? So say you wanted players of Hispanic decent from MLB, Japanese or Korean players etc? I really wish we could use minor/development leagues and tournaments in associations
