I'm no expert but I've always spelled it Addis Ababa, which is what it is on Wikipedia too. I did notice that in ootp though as it took me ages to find the city when placing the team! From my research previously I think both ok?

Yes, it's spelled both ways. I was just pointing out that the game uses the less common spelling so the spelling in the game may not match the logo.

yeah that makes sense, thanks poiuy! I think I'll stick with Ababa, even if my perfectionist tendencies make me tempted to line it up with the in game spelling...

Really wanted to use a Soviet stamp or maybe some Russian art but I made this simple one today after looking through a bunch of stuff.



I added a version without the snowflake filter but lol I prefer the snowflake filter. I could easily change these colors around though, if someone has a better idea and codes. I kind of just picked some greys and a dark purple

Several of these last ones, Leopards, Lions, Blizzard are kind of "your city or team name here" logos, I'll gladly alter them if asked

Thank you 20! For the Ababa 2040 one, but also for all these great Moscow ones. I think the snowflake one is my favourite too, followed by the unflipped version. The logo really reminds me of something but I cannot picture what, some sort of beverage from the 90s?? Dunno. The colour scheme is one no team in my massive league has, so it works for me! I like the small logos too, will give them all a go and see which look best in game, I think my favourite is the middle one.

Coincidentally, the Mountain Hares' next game is against San Juan Garitas, who were created to use your logo of course!

You went on quite the entertaining journey here 20. I was aware of the scarab beetle's frequent appearances in Egyptian art etc, but did not realise they worshipped them, so that's something new. You have me also turning against the name, (perhaps a bit too obvious?), but I'm now caught in a bind between sticking with Pharaohs to use whatever the final version of the photo logo ends up like (which I really like!) or renaming them the Cairo Scarabs. I kind of like the more light-hearted nature of the latter, and your logos for them are kind of perfect.

Had you shown me that photo you linked to and said you were going to fit it into a logo without making it look more 'drawn' I'd have thought 'no way mate, that's mad', but you've done it, and I really like it. Appreciate it being the only logo in the league featuring a photo too, but that would mean not changing my their name to the Scarabs, darn, I'm in a bind.

Oh and I totally forgot to mention I went to watch your Phillies for the London series with one of my brothers. Disappointingly the game you lost, but it was fun!

that's the thing about it, I think this is as far as I can go with scanning it at different percentages and recoloring them, or to say it simpler, this is as far as I can go with manipulating the original image. I'd have to draw over it, which I'm not really skillful enough to do yet (although it would/will be cool to try -I'd definitely like to be good enough to essentially draw a logo-y version of anything). And I don't think that a statue of a pharaoh is exactly what I want to practice on! There are several things that I have drawn so far, but nothing that complicated. Drawing a person seems harder than drawing a bird. (The Havana logo I did draw a lot of, though, actually. There's scans on the bottom of it but I touched that one up a lot.)

Im glad you like it, (and you poiuy) I love trying to figure out something for these prompts. And now I love dung beetles. I'll be using it for a Chicago or St Louis minor league team in Cairo Illinois

Bucharest Sounds is great too - I like the simple classic feel. Do you mind doing a small logo for them? Just a simple B in that purple would do, and fits the classical vibe then, thank you .

Finally the Giraffes, I need to try in game but I think the middle small one is my favourite. The big logo is the most leftfield of the bunch, but it's kind of glorious, and has a sense of humour! If you ever find an image of a giraffe you like then an alternate version with a giraffe there instead of a player would be nice, but only if you feel the urge, and to be honest I'd probably end up sticking with this one anyway, just intrigued to see what it would look like.

Just got a little frustrated last night trying to interlock letters. I ended up posting these but they're all wip... there's also a terrible flamingo head that I drew.

Dar es Salaam is begging for a DeS monogram - I've tried building from the st. Louis Cardinals, st Paul saints, and now the old San Diego Padres logo, but I'm not happy with them. Going to need another skill jump from me before I can make good monograms I think :|

Bucharest is from a commemorative coin image of this classical music building. The purple half shading is based on the Sydney Fc logo. I feel like that logo is absolutely amazing and I'll probably try to mimic it again with another city/landmark.

I drew the Grey jay I've been experimenting with the inkscape patterns overlaid over block colors to give texture - I saw this done in a tutorial. It's hard to see but there are little dots on the front, and stripes on the back feather.

But the overall logo shape isn't based on anything, which is probably why it doesn't look that good to me yet... the banner and font aren't satisfying. Maybe it would be better hanging on a circle like the Athens logo. I don't know, it could be done, or I could totally redo it. One of the many baseball bird logos must be the correct one to mimic, not sure which.

Yeah that windup guy is from an old Cardinals program I saw, it probably works better as a league logo or something but I do like it. Maybe a little giraffe clip art under his leg idk

I bloody love the Toronto one, but I'm sure when you come back with another you'll have improved it in ways I don't understand... I rather like the banner! Even more impressed now knowing that you drew the jay.

I agree that the Sydney FC logo is pretty sensational: sleek, bold, simple and yet interesting, and you've done a good job drawing inspiration from it for the Bucharest logo.

Exactly the same colours and fonts is perfect (I think the second one without the established date is my favourite, but a version of each would be amazing if that's ok...). Established 2040.
