Minor Leagues convert to Reserve Roster?

I'm playing a historical league that started in 2005. I just completed the 2022 season and when it turns over to 2023, all my minor league affiliates are gone and my players on put on a Reserve Roster, similar to the 2020 season. Am I missing a setting? Not sure why my minor league affiliates are gone after the 2022 season. Can anyone offer any insight?

This is because the milbleagues.csv file - which is the file that determines what leagues appear in OOTP each season - does not have the 2023 minor leagues in it. IOW, it stops at 2022. The companion file - milbteams.csv - which contains all the team info for the minor leagues - has the 2023 teams, but those are ignored if the leagues aren't present in milbleagues.csv.

I don't know if the above situation is due to the data (that is necessary for the file) is not available yet (unlikely), due to oversight/on somebody's to-do list (my guess), or some other reason (certainly possible).

I can confirm that the milbleagues.csv file for OOTP 24 included the 2022 minors, but I don't know if v24 rolled out only with minors thru 2021 and later in the cycle it was updated to include 2023 minors...

What's interesting is that there is a 3rd file that goes with these files: the era_stats_minors.txt file. Essentially, that file contains the league stats totals for each league, each year, so OOTP can keep stats in line with real life. In that file, the minors' data stops after the 2019 season. I'm not sure what OOTP does if data for a milb season does not exist in this file... I'm assuming it either holds over the data from the previous season (so the 2019 baseline data applies to subsequent season), or otherwise does something to make sure things don't go haywire... But not really sure. Interesting, though...

Sorry, I just realized that you posted this in the v24 forum. However, the logic still applies to both OOTP 24 and 25: Without 2023 leagues included in the milbleagues.csv file, once the game progressed to the 2022-23 offseason (typically late November), all minor leagues are going to essentially fold. The history will remain, but they'll be gone and players will end up reserve rosters (and free agents).

I don't know if this would help you, but once the milbleagues.csv file for OOT 25 is updated to include 2023 leagues, you should be able to use that file in your OOTP 24 game. I mean, if you don't have a backup of your current game, this won't help you. But it might help for a future save.

Thank you for your reply. I am actually playing OOTP 25, I just posted in the incorrect forums. This sort of puts a damper on continuing additional seasons. Thanks again for your help.

The files are relatively easy to edit if, say, you wanted the 2022 structure to continue on for several years. Would be pretty easy to do... That said, continuing with your current game would be an issue...
