Charlie Chech 1905

Another image from the current RMY Auction, but not as innovative as the previous posts.

The image is identified as Jimmy Sebring which is highly dubious. An examination of the Cincinnati composite from 1905 reveals a match with the portrait for Charlie Chech.

Here's a more front-facing option for Sitton, as pictured in the 4/4/1909 edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Here's a front-facing option for Wright, who was pictured in the 1/19/1910 edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Despite his moniker, he was winless as a pitcher.

PHOTO LOCATED: Burt Goetz 1889 Baltimore Orioles

I found a nice photo of a dapper looking George Burt Goetz, who pitched briefly for the Baltimore Orioles. He was pictured in the April 8, 1948 Greencastle, PA Echo-Pilot. I had a found a cartoonish illustration of him a few years ago.

Ed Haigh 1892 MISSING PLAYER

Newspapers.com has been updating their database considerably as of late and because of this I was able to locate 1 game major leaguer Ed Haigh. He was pictured in the 2/4/1909 edition of the Press of Atlantic City where he was coaching High School baseball.

Ed Kenna 1902 (Cleveland uniform)

Image is from a preseason composite of the Cleveland Blues published in the Cleveland Leader on April 13th, 1902.

Kenna did not pitch for Cleveland. Early in the season, he was obtained by the Philadelphia Athletics and appeared in two games for them in May. That was the beginning and end of his major league career.

Jim A. McCormick 1892

I'm skeptical that the Baseball-Reference photo pictures McCormick. I have here another option for McCormick which pictures him as a member of the 1893 Lewiston, ME team. The team photo was pictured in the 2/2/1907 edition of the Lewiston Sun-Journal.

The line drawing on B-R came from Bob Broeg's book The St. Louis Cardinals Encyclopedia. I can't speak to the original image sourcing beyond that, but other line drawings in the book appeared to be representative of the named player.

That said, the line drawing bears a striking general resemblance to Jim McCormick (mccorji01) as shown in the 1879 Chicago White Stockings California Tour team photo.

Thanks for the confirmed newspaper image--I generally prefer photos to line drawings anyway.

Look, I get that Rick Honeycutt was a Yankee for a grand total of five days at the end of the 1995 season. (The A's released him on September 24th, the Yanks picked him up on the 26th, he got into 3 games as the team was resting up for the playoffs, but of course he wasn't eligible for those.)

But still, given that it was the 1990s in New York for a team that was being fairly heavily covered, I'm surprised I can't find an image of him in pinstripes. But that's why I have you guys to help me out, right?

Fantastic Find on Haigh, that lowers the number of Cardinals with no known pic to 5! (from 1882-present). Has there been any new leads on these guys?

Bernard, Joe 1909
Fagin, Fred 1895
Lavin, Johnny 1884
Leonard, (first name unknown) 1892
Millard, Frank 1890

Fred Fagin 1895 is actually a guy named Joe Fagin, who was a top Cincinnati semipro catcher. Lots of notes on him the Cincy papers but no photo as of yet. There are two Joe Fagins of the right age in Cincy at the time so haven't been able to conclusively ID him.
