You need to update the era_ballparks.txt file in the database directory. Update the lines for comiskey with years for the new file and add the folder name of the new model in the last column to the right for each line

Thanks for the instructions. Since I'm already using your parks it should be easy to figure out how to add another one. Will the modified .txt file get overwritten by game updates, or is it stagnant?

All right, I'm a bit more stupid (probably a lot) than I thought. What do I do with the non-.prk files in the download? I also see that there're all kinds of values in the text file. How do I know what to put in there (other than the obvious ones like name and filename)?

So this thread has kinda died down since Silvam won't be updating his ballparks....but Silvam...and this isn't a request but just an observation. I am using the 1908 League Park in Cleveland and wondered what it would look like if you had made it more like Gary Grisby's pics? I wish some of these deadball parks had some fancy stuff like in his pic.

I was downloading ballparks for the 1969 season yesterday and now I can't finish my setup. Does anyone know how to get ballparks to download into the game without these ballparks being available ?

Saw your post and thought I would fool around with what you want. Take a look. Is this what you have in mind. I don't want to go any further if it is not. The signage is a problem as you can't read most of them. The background will be a wee bit of a problem also. I don't want to go any further if it is not what you had in mind.

I like it.
wonder when advertisments started to take over.
Always like when ballparks had great players or numbers on the walls
However advertisements look better than just a blank wall.

I like it. Not bad. The signs look fine. Maybe some more sign on the big wall. As for as the background, any way to make it look like you're in a city like in that first pic? That'd be ideal..I know that's probably the hardest part. I'd be curious to see what you come up with.

I planned for more signs on the big wall. I just didn't want to continue if it is not what you wanted. I regard to the background, I looked for pictures of the park in 1908 and what I could find looked like more rural than city, lots of trees.

This really helps the evolution of ballparks in a sim.
I can start with the original one and then convert to this one down the line.
If you had a bunch of signs in ballparks of the 1870s it might not look realistic.
Having them enter later is much more realistic.

The signs on the walls on the 1908 League park were based on the painting that sdw1000 wanted to emulate. Some were hard to find and some were completely unreadable, so I added some from that era. I am not sure when a lot of advertising sign were added to ball parks. In the beginning there were few, I think

Does anyone have any insight they could offer on how I get a custom ballpark to be recognized by the game when the time is right? I don't understand the file structure.

That's pretty good! I like it! I am gonna see how it looks in my league. A little more signage and some city background like in that pic, gives it a little more life. I am sure alot of those other deadball parks could use that updating. Thanks!

Glad I could help and glad you like it. Finding signage for advertising in that time is difficult at best.

Been trying to use some of the ballparks from the 1955 season in a league I have set up.
When I import them with the prk fle, I get the generic OOTP ballpark.
And when I import the OBJ file in 3D models I get a partial ballpark with a huge amount of it just black.
I have had this issue before, but cannot remember the workaround.
