Graphics and editing questions

I just bought FHM11, and only bought FHM10 a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still getting used to the game and had a few questions. I'm sure I'll figure some of this out as I play the new game, but just looking for some info to get me started. Here we go:

1) In the jersey_pics folder, I see that NHL teams have corresponding jersey numbers for each jersey (e.g. anaheim_ducks_0_road.png). I have not yet seen these pop up in the game, so I'm wondering what graphic(s) they are assigned to and where they display?

2) Are In the changelog, the devs said that they've "added some more internal tools to make large-scale updating and analysis of player data easier". I'd love to work on a retro season mod for late 90s SM-liiga, and was wondering if anyone had more info about that. Compared to FHM10, what is the best method for adding a whole different database of players to a league/save?

3) Skimming through player attributes in Liiga, I noticed that a lot of players are at similar ratings in many attribute categories (e.g. speed, acceleration, shot accuracy, etc). As the European leagues are probably a bit difficult to track and scout, how realistic are the players' attributes? I would be interested in editing these for more disparity between players, but will doing this throw off the balance and accuracy of stats and results?

4) This is a longshot, but is it possible to assign an individual .png file to each player icon in the 2D engine? For example, if I want to create custom player icons in rink_pics, would the game recognize a file structure like "player_anaheim_ducks_away_jerseynumber.png"? I assume this is not currently possible, but it would be awesome to create 2D player icons where the .png file itself can show a number on the back of their jersey.

Sorry for so many questions, and I hope this is the right forum to post this in. Not expecting detailed answers to everything I've asked but anything would be helpful. Thanks everyone!

To answer your first question the jersey numbers and jerseys appear only if you have Facegen disabled.
