Ideas to Rectify Team under Salary Cap
I traded away an over-priced guy and now my team is under the salary cap and I can't advance the day. What can I do to alleviate this?
Sign a bunch of guys to current year contracts? I run the risk of running out of contracts. Although is they are current year only deals that will clear at the end of the year. Give one guy a $5M contract for the rest of the year? Can I edit current contracts and pay some of my guys more for this year? Any better ideas?? |

Sign one guy to a $5 or $6 million dollar contract to ride the bench/maybe play if really need-be.
It's the easiest and most efficient way to do it.

What they;ll do in 'real life' is look for players who have a high cap hit, but low actual salary. Their payroll doesn't take a huge hit, but they get to the Cap floor.
It's usually veterans at the end of their viability in the league. Their old team is eager to get rid of them to reclaim that cap space for more useful players. They'll often even throw in a prospect or draft pick, or retain salary.
