Historical Game can't start
I tried to start an historical season, with new rosters, starting in 1965, as the Chicago Blackhawks. After I set the league up, I can't get to the initial draft because a message comes up saying that the AHL has an invalid playoff format. I am unable, or not sure how, to make any changes to the AHL format. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I'm not sure why that message is coming up, it normally occurs if there's a compatibility problem between the league's divisional setup and the playoff system, but there shouldn't be one for the way the AHL is set up in 1965, and I don't get it when I try a 1965 start with the default options. What are the exact settings you're starting with?
The playoff format can only be changed on July 1 in commissioner mode, if t'll let you choose a different playoff system n July 1, so you would need to start the with the July 1 start option (on the Set Up Your Manager screen in the initial setup) and then go to the AHL's Edit screen, Rules section, to change the playoff system to something else. |

Still can't get it to work
I was able to get to the AHL playoff editing section in commissioner mode on July 1, and tried all of the possible playoff options, but each time I hit Continue, it won't advance the date and still says that the AHL has an invalid playoff format. I notice that each time I return to the AHL edit screen, the playoff format line is blank, and doesn't reflect what I had just chosen.

I also tried the same settings for the starting year 1969 and got the same result.

I tried the same setup in FHM 10. It worked in FHM 10, but not FHM 11.

We're investigating the AHL playoff problem. For now, you can get around it by turning the AHL playoffs entirely (the option to do that in their playoff selection saves properly, when for some reason the others may not.)

I know you guys are investigating this now, just chiming in to say I'm also seeing this in Historical Challenge(the Bobby Orr one, I haven't tried any others), in case that needs a separate look
I got through the first year okay, but I can't progress past July 1st, 1967 |

Also AHL season 1984-85 ended after regular season, no playoffs were generated. |

Just finished the 1967 season. Tried to move from 7/1 and I get The AHL has an invalid playoff format message. Can't move past that. I did a whole draft and do not want to start all over again! I don't see a place where you can turn the AHL Playoffs off. There are the NHL playoffs, but I don't see the AHL playoff format under rules or info. So how do you turn AHL playoffs off?

They can be turned off by editing the league rules. But the AHL playoffs problem will be fixed in the next update, which is coming very soon.

Jeff, you keep saying that :"They can be turned off by editing the league rules". However, There are only NHL playoff rule changes that I see under rule changes. There are no AHL buttons or anything else that you can turn off.
See attached file.

That says "Stanley Cup Playoffs", so you appear to be on the NHL edit screen. Switch to the AHL, then click on "Type" and it'll give you other options. But the problem should be fixed after the update, so you'll no longer need to do that.
