A player the has successful eye surgery may have an improvement of overall eye, but their split eye ratings do not improve.

Hah. From the title I thought this must be a spam post. And then I opened it and saw a screenshot of the game.

Nice catch! I wonder if this is a common bug and it just hasn't been noticed before.
