Player Unable to Play 2 Weeks, Recovery Time Still Unknown?

I'm used to a player's recovery time not being known for a few days, but 2 weeks? I keep thinking "any day now", but after 2 weeks I'm now thinking it could be months or maybe even never. Are there just certain injuries, like biceps tendinitis, that this happens to and you should put them on the IL immediately? He is a good reliever and I'd like him back asap, but I'd even more like to just fill the roster spot with another reliever. At this point I'm pretty sure I should just put him on the IL, but should I have done it sooner? A lot of times the injury isn't serious and they can come back before the IL time would have been over.

I see this a lot with hamstring injuries ... if it's day to day unknown, I'll go with the IL immediately or an indefinite benching to make sure he doesn't play.

If you want to find out the exact number of days left on an injury, there is a way. Open the player's profile, and go to the edit tab. It should be in the Bio tab. Injury data is in the top right.

Thanks! I'll be sure to be on the lookout for them too now.

You're right! Thanks! After I saw your post I looked and it said 1 day. So I played a game without doing anything with him and after the day was over he was available again. Thanks. I was honestly starting to wonder if I had come across some rare bug and he was just never going to be available again.

Well, I'm glad to know this for the future. You'll probably know their recovery time within a few days, but it could be 2 weeks, if not even more.

I checked a player that has similar issues on the Players' Bio page. There is a tab "Move to Injury History", so I clicked it, and the injury went away! Really did not want that to happen. Now, it looks like you cannot go back and reinstate the DTD injury. So, be careful!

It didn't go away, just went into their history, where you can't edit it anymore. Very annoying

I've seen it too with soft tissue injuries. I like how this works in the game and wouldn't look in the editor, unless, as I think you did, to figure out if it might be a bug.

One thing about the IL is if you put him on there, even at a later date, it should be retroactive and start the IL time at the date of the injury, not the time you place him on the list.

Yeah, the problem isn't so much wanting to get him back from the IL asap, but giving someone else that roster spot during the time the player is limbo.

Also, I don't remember if OOTP backdates it the whole way or only 3 days like MLB does. I wonder why MLB does that.

In my experience, having variable diagnosis 'on', the injuries randomness feels about right. Pretty subjective, but I haven't had any serious complaints on this OOTP mechanic.

Now, overall level of Fragile and Wrecked players and the frequency at which it accelerates are completely different animals, at least for me.
