Combinator pull odds

I am a little confused about how the combinator series works, specifically the odds of pulling one. My memory of probability may be a bit shaky so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Taking silver cards for example: it's a 1:10 odds of pulling a silver, 55:45 ratio of live:historical means 4.5% chance of pulling a historical silver in a standard pack. Then the odds of it being a combinator are 1:200, which gives the odds of pulling a silver historical combinator at 0.0225%. Have I understood this correctly or did my high school stats class fail me? I have opened nearly 300 packs with no combinators of any level and am trying to figure out if I have just been unlucky or if I misunderstand the odds.

They're very rare. The worst thing about them is that I've pulled a Diamond, no one is willing to pay the minimum price of 50K, I can't quick-sell it for anything, and it would only be a marginal contributor in league even if I hit all five upgrades. It's dead weight.

Combinator cards seem like a really poor idea or an even worse implementation to me. There are many things that could have been done in other areas of PT that could have actually been exciting for more than a week like this mess.

If you pull a combinator and you can combine to make it perfect, Great! But I prefer a quick sell option.

I feel you LeeD. I got a diamond combinator and tried to improve it 3 times at slightly over 50% odds, didn't get it any time and then realized that this is a card that's playable now but would it really be playable in June? Even if I were to somehow combine it to full potential?

Had it on the market for awhile but no one was interested at all, so I'm just acting like it's a regular card and using it until it no longer has value and just hoping that it will end up in a mission down the road (do combinator cards still work in missions?)

I had a similar moment when I was trying to figure out the odds of pulling rare cards in a game. I was getting frustrated because, like you, I opened a ton of packs and never got the good stuff. I actually found https://non-ukcasinos.com really helpful—they broke down the math behind odds and explained how things like the “1:200” odds can make it feel like you’re due for a win, but in reality, it’s still a pretty long shot. I wouldn’t say you’ve misunderstood; it’s just the nature of these rare pulls!

yep. I have a ton of them just sitting in my card order at min price. They really need a quick sell option for them.

I did pull a Cliff Lee 102 and was able to sell it for almost a million, so that was pretty awesome.

Your quicksell option is to remove the card's combinator status and then quickselling from there.

This works!

Why did I have to wait until I had made up my mind to never play PT again?

Unless there is a spectacular additon to real OOTP26, OOTP25 fufills all my baseball game needs, so I don't have any intenrion of buying new versions

Sorry to hear that my correct answer given the constraints of the game as it stands now enrages you so much.
