Another Idea to "Fix" the Game Economy
I wonder if it would be possible to create a mechanism whereby, after a certain amount of time, locked cards can be unlocked and resold.
I'm not sure what it would look like, but maybe something like this:
When a player completes a mission, a "clock" starts. After a preset amount of time (one or two months), they regain the option to unlock and sell those locked cards again. There could even be an extra penalty or cost for doing so - something like a 10% tax on the sale price.
By starting the timer on mission completion rather than mission release, it would still encourage people to try to complete missions early rather than sit and wait for the "unlocked" cards to come on the market.
By creating a possible influx of newly unlocked cards, it could help create a surplus and keep prices from getting so out of hand.
It would add another layer of strategy - Do I sell this newly unlocked historical 101 card to complete the latest mission, risking the possibility that the card I'm about to sell could well be in another mission in the future? Or do I keep it?
I don't know if it would work, or even if it's possible, but if it is, it might be helpful...
