When does the first half end?

Hello, for the first time, I have decided to use the spilt-season playoff format for a new fictional league. I understand well how this playoff format works, but I was just wondering when the first half ends and the second one begins. Is it the mathematical midpoint of the season? Or is it the All-Star Game? Any answer is helpful!

Pretty sure it's the All Star break.
