MLB 2022 Promotion and Relegation Mod!
Link to MLB 2022 Promotion and Relegation Mod: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cJf...ew?usp=sharing
Hey all! This is my first time making my mods public and I am beyond excited to share this with you, as every single year a new OOTP game comes out I do something similar to what I am about to share with you. Have you ever wondered what Promotion and Relegation would look like in the MLB? Well, with this mod, now is your chance! I have broken off every single Major league team with its affiliate, so now all Minor league teams have to fend for themselves, and aren't being dictated by a big league club. Now that everyone is separate, everyone has a chance to make the big leagues, using the Promotion and Relegation system like you'd see in pretty much every football league around the globe. One of my main gripes with Pro sports (and especially baseball) is the fact that teams are not punished for doing poorly. How much more exciting would it be if a team like the Pirates had to fight to stay alive in September instead of phoning it in and waiting for next season. This is partly why I have created this every year, and why I am excited to share this mod with all of you. Here is the overall structure of this particular mod. This is a 10 tier system including all Major League teams, all Minor League teams, (except I omitted the Gulf Coast League, Arizona League, and the Dominican League mainly because I find that would have gotten confusing with their terrible naming conventions.) all Indy ball teams in the game, and even included a vast array of Collegiate Summer League teams within this particular save, since I love chaos. Because of the fact that I added quite a few more teams that start out with 0 players at the beginning of the game, I dumped every single player in every international league that the game includes into the Free Agent pool, so you will see Nippon Professional League players as well as Czech League players, and every other league in between within these lower reaches of the game. The structure is as Followed, along with how many teams get promoted and relegated from the league each year: Major League Baseball, MLB, 30 teams (0 promoted, 3 relegated to AAA) Triple A, AAA, 30 teams (3 promoted to MLB, 3 relegated to AA) Double A, AA, 30 teams (3 promoted to AAA, 3 relegated to A+) High-A, A+, 30 teams (3 promoted to AA, 3 relegated to A Single A, A, 30 teams (3 promoted to A+, 3 relegated to A-) Low A, A-, 32 teams (3 promoted to A, 4 relegated to R) Rookie League, R, 42 teams (4 promoted to A-, 6 relegated to BD1) Baseball Division 1, BD1, 60 teams (6 promoted to R, 8 relegated to BD2) Baseball Division 2, BD2, 80 teams (8 promoted to BD1, 12 relegated to BD3) Baseball Division 3, 120 teams (12 promoted to BD2, 0 relegated) As far as evolution of the leagues is concerned, every league can evolve for things like roster changes and whatnot, but relocation and team name changes are not on, nor is expansion..... the only league that can change is BD3. This way there aren't new expansion teams that get to skip too the big leagues so to speak. Every team needs to work for it. Another thing many of you may be asking about are team budgets... I wish that I could change this part of the save up, but so far every leagues average budget essentially cuts in half if that makes sense... I don't love this, but this is the best way that I've found to do it, mainly because I've found never versions of the game aren't as friendly when it comes to this and adjust these numbers after I've already adjusted them to my desired liking, which is a bit annoying. I used to have a shared league draft with every team from MLB to the BD3 able to select from the same draft, with a random draft order, which I thought was fun, but it causes a lot of the players that are selected within the first 5 rounds of the draft not to sign, because these smaller teams don't have enough money to attract players for their slot bonuses etc. On this download, I have an individual 10 round draft for each league. This should work better, and I have the slot bonuses decreasing for each draft as well as the individual negotiation rounds being diminished the further down the leagues you go. I really hope some of you guys find enjoyment in this chaos that I have created, if the lower leagues are too chaotic for you guys, I can upload a different download, because I know that might not excite some people, I just like it because it's weird and there are more teams to choose from that way. |

I'm guessing 23 since it was made this month.
Kev24Fan and I were just talking about a league like this but i didn\t want to create this because of the work involved. Downloading now. Edit: I took over Kane County Cougars which is close to my house and I have jerseys & a stadium for them. I get Kerry Lightenberg as my PC and I signed Augie Ojeda as my 1BC. Offered a contract to Shawon Dunston Jr. I will have a dynasty thread on this by Saturday.

This mod is for OOTP 23. I made one for 22, but I think I deleted it a little bit ago, because my computer was being kind of fussy for a while there. If you are wanting a 22 version, I think I sent my 22 version to a friend of mine via email once upon a time, but it's not as heavily structured as this current version.

Thank you so much for checking it out! I hope you enjoy it. I have a career with the Mankato Moondogs currently that is going real well. I also have this big big project of a 100 years of MLB promotion/relegation youtube video that I really want to try and do, so every year I try and do it, but never know how it should be structured, and I get tired of waiting around for it to progress to that point

Thanks so much for making this. Have you ever tried to regionalize the lower tiers to make it more like a pyramid? I'm trying to set that up, but it doesn't look neatly compatible with how the game wants it to work.

Never mind, I think I just figured it out. Say I have five leagues in one tier. I think I just need to make one league with five divisions and build a custom schedule so that there's no inter-division play.

Hey, just checked this post out of the blue. Thanks so much for checking it out! I have a newer one for ootp 25 without the 'lower leagues'. Just Majors-MLB affiliated independents. Every team included in the game. It's a little less chaotic, but there's still enough going on there.
As for a more 'regional' schedule, no. I just put them in there. I'm glad you figured it out though. I should really do that again. I personally like having the lower leagues in there as an option, but I left it out for some reason in my previous versions for my own playthroughs/ viewing pleasure. |

Also, just read it again. I don't think there's a way to make the higher tier break their relegations, so that's why I did it the way that I did it. Instead of having more individual 'leagues' that are in the same tier, I tried to look at the level as a whole. View the divisions as their separate leagues. I think there's a way to do just divisional play but I didn't bother in my setup.
