Been Out of the Loop for a Long Time

I just logged into OOTP25 for the first time in a LONG time. I have 791,000 PT points. How should I spend them?

For a quick team refresh, you could buy up a lot of mission toppers like Ty Cobb and Mookie Betts for a lot less than the rest of us had to pay for them. Also Christy Matthewson and Sandy Koufax. They aren't the elite of elite anymore, but they'll still dominate the lower level leagues.

What level are you currently.

I agree with LeeD, and go after the low hanging Missions.

I am in Iron Division. I just bought a bunch of rainbow packs because I said screw it, let's rip.

Not an optimal strategy, but good luck to you. May you pull a Randy Johnson and Ronald Acuna.

I'm not sure what low hanging missions are. I had completed what I thought were the low hanging missions before I stopped playing many months ago. Not sure if there are other low hanging missions but it seems like most of them were going to eat up my 800,000 points I had

It's not low hanging missions, although there are likely to be some where you could complete them on the cheap for good pack rewards or a good topper. I was talking about buying the toppers in the card shop for substantially less than the required missions would cost. Mathewson for 56K, Koufax for 65K, Betts for 92K, Cobb for 120K. Also a boatload of PT Elite toppers for 40-65K. Even Honus Wagner is on sale for 195K right now. With these cards, many of which are last month's and the month before's meta cards, you would have a dominant team in Iron and a competitive team through at least Gold.

Anyway, how'd your card pulls go? Anything juicy?

I'm not sure what the best cards are. I pulled a Chipper 104, Hoskins 102 (he is killing it in iron, Skubal103). I didn't see some of the cards you listed in the card shop and I like ripping.

Buying packs is a boom or bust strategy

Casinos make billions on boom or bust games like slots, roulette, etc.

Much better to make directed buys of the players you want.

The low hanging fruit missions are the ones that reward you with regular packs. You can often "buy" 2 or three regular packs by buying a handful of irons or bronzes for a total outlay of a few hundred PP's. At this point, you can likely earn 200-300 regular packs for a total of 50-75,000 PP. And you can fuel further buying by selling off dupes and unwanted cards.

Yes, this is what I mean when I say that certain mission streams have become self-funding. The missions yield packs, the packs yield cards that you can sell for more than the mission cost (or help complete other missions that yield more card packs).

At this point, Live series is well beyond self-funding. BBRef is self-funding. Most of the Pack Rewards missions are self-funding. Future Legends is close if you carefully select your cards (and use buy orders) so that you complete the secondary missions to acquire (and quick-sell) the extra Perfects and miscellaneous pieces. OOTP25 is also close if you can get 100 Posey for a good price and plan on using him for league play (Gold and below only).

BBRef and Future Legends in particular are loaded with Historical Diamond and Perfect packs as rewards in addition to having useful cards up through Silver league, many of which can later be sold (Webb, Williams, Holliday, etc.) for 20,000-plus each.

Holliday

Better to keep FL Holliday and add his dad via that mission so you can get a cheap perfect pack. But yes, I have two teams that I started with the 4th team you gt for buying GO that roared through Silver quickly thanks to the self-funded missions you mention.
