Clara Bow batting with the Hollywood Stars in 1926

Another one from 2020, part of a series of random ones I did after the random assortment of players. I think I occasionally made a few more in the following years then stopped after just losing interest in late 2021 or early 2022 or something

Unidentified LSU players, 1880s or 1890s maybe?

Not much info on this pic from what I remember unless something surfaced since then. I just assumed it was before they adopted their purple and gold colors

Ok this is the last one from the collection. I also had done the Packy Dillon one which I mega-enhanced on here as well as the unidentified guy we thought was Bill Tobin that I also enhanced back then but I already posted them on here so there's no point in posting them again in lower quality.

				Luther Roy 1924

Spectacular outcome in respect of the Bayne image, thank you. Luther Roy began his Major League career in 1924 with the Cleveland Indians. Here he is from that year. A right handed pitcher he appeared in 16 games without posting a win but lost 5. He appeared in 6 more games the following season with Cleveland but remained winless. On his return to the Majors in 1927 with the Cubs he benefited from an upturn in his fortune. He posted a 3-1 record over 11 games with a 2.29 ERA, by some distance his most effective season Back again in 1929 he spread his time between the Phillies and Brooklyn. His career ERA for more than 50 games was a less than impressive 7.17, he made 17 starts and posted 3 complete games with 36 strikeouts in approaching 171 innings. OT I still cringe when I see this thread was started by Cheech.

I had to look through and see who that was and oh my he seems like a real character. I don't know if you know who Ron Liebman from SABR was but I get a vibe that Cheech and him could have been the same person. This guy seemed like a very unstable individual as some of his comments and incidents on some of his many accounts here show: https://www.baseball-reference.com/b...1&oldid=203119 https://www.baseball-reference.com/b...5&oldid=224795 (Petty vandalism of another user's profile) https://www.baseball-reference.com/b...3&oldid=184311 (More petty vandalism of the same guy who he particularly hated, he would also use this term 'bezzler' a lot which he used when referring to a certain body part which he would call people as an insult) https://www.baseball-reference.com/b...4&oldid=558659 (Him impersonating Rick Dempsey, which is a tactic he used with various players and writer's names too in an attempt to make it look like other people backed up his claims) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php...ldid=168531515 (Him pretending to be a Wikipedia admin to not only talk highly about himself but to also claim that 'bezzler' is a real term too for god knows what reason) Also a list of his upward of 100 Wikipedia sockpuppets which he used to basically post the same sort of comments with: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catego...of_Ron_liebman

				Fred Johnston 1924

That's something that definitely belongs in the rear view mirror to move on from and appreciate the positivity in this thread now. Thanks P.T. for the lovely colorization. Here is an image of Fred Johnston from 1924 as reflected on his Brooklyn target card. He just appeared as an infielder in 4 games for the 1924 Brooklyn Robins. Accumulated 4 plate appearances playing 1 game as a second baseman and one at third. His one career hit was productive in that he scored from it. Fun times

I have regrets about that as well. I have chosen to move on from the toxicity of the early days that often came into play. It is always unfortunate to have a creative place brought down by name calling and the like.

Well he's banned now and as far as i can tell hasn't returned and if he was liebman, well liebman is deceased now so we should just not have to worry about him and move on.
