Attached is a 1924 image of Joe Evans with the St. Louis Browns.

Right handed batter Joe Evans began his 11 year Major League career in 1915 with the Cleveland Indians with 138 plate appearances spread over 42 games. During the course of his career, he played more games at third base (280) than at any other position. However, he did appear in 307 total games in the outfield, mainly in left field (184).

He remained with the Indians through 1922, establishing himself as the starting third-baseman in 1917, normally hitting 7th. He remained a starter in 1918 but his appearances reduced from 132 games to 79. Larry Gardner took over as the Indians starting third baseman in 1919 and Evans continued as a reserve for the rest of his stay in Cleveland but never reappeared at third-base during that period.

On joining the Senators in 1923 he appeared in over 100 games for the second and final time in his career, primarily as a back-up outfielder. He then represented the Browns in his last 2 years in the Majors, all in the outfield.

I had this from a 1953 image pack I did a couple of years ago. Needs an update with better tools now available. I'll put it on the "to do" list.

The only real work I had to do was the hat. It was bleached out. Also presenting a look at the final colorization filtered through deepnostalgia.ai

I tried to spruce this up but the colors are already good. When I tweaked it, all that really came of it was blown out reds. I tried recolorizing it and running it through pica.ai for upscaling and this is what I got.

I judged kolorize to be slightly better than palette for this one.

This is a 1924 image of Frank Bruggy with the Philadelphia Athletics.

Buggy was a right-handed catcher whose Major League career spanned 5 seasons. His initial season with the Phillies in 1921 was undoubtedly his most productive. He took over as the starting catcher and appeared in a career high 96 games. He batted at .310 from his eighth position in the batting order. He moved across town to the Athletics where he appeared in 50 plus games for the next 3 seasons as back-up to Cy Perkins. He finished his Major League career in 1925 with the Cincinnati Reds, appearing in just 6 games.

Attached is a 1924 image of Eddie Pick with the Cincinnati Reds. This is one of a number of images that have been extracted from the 1924 Reds team photo.

Eddie Pick's career is dominated by his time with the 1927 Chicago Cubs where he made all of his career starts almost exclusively as a third baseman. 54 of his 66 total appearances were with the Cubs. Prior to that his 12 appearances were spread over 2 seasons (1923 & 24) with the Cincinnati Reds, mainly as a substitute in left field.

Keeping with the '54 theme, I recently found a nice Dave Koslo from his brief time with the Orioles. It was better than the one I already had so I did the colorization below. palette.fm as usual. Wasn't sure if it should go here or in random colorizations.
