BRBL Seeks GM’s for Boston, Philadelphia

The Best Run Baseball League is a cash league ($50 per year) entering its eighth year. All monies are paid out in prizes. These two guys also run the BRHL (Best Run Hockey League which is in its 24th year (www.new.brhl.net) and the BFFL in the FanGM (fangm.com/brfl) series of football leagues which is going into its 6th year.

The BRBL is the most realistic baseball league around. As we approach the release of version 26 of the OOTP game we are preparing for our 10 round amateur draft. These available draftees include the 2024 MLB draftees, the 2024 International free agent class and all players previously drafted or signed by MLB teams not affiliated with a team in our league. Our google sheet draft list includes 2,579 players.

Once the game comes out we start free agency which leads up to our Rule V draft. You will have a 126 player roster which includes AAA, AA, High A and Low A teams.

The Boston Red Sox won 70 games last year and have young pitchers Jared Jones, Ben Brown, Andrew Abbott and Yosh Yamamoto. They also have the # 2 selection in the upcoming draft. (because we delay our draft to the following off season the order is based on the 2023 final standings).

The Philadelphia Phillies won 55 games last year and have Ethan Salas, Zack Neto and Evan Carter as a young core. They have the # 3 selection in this draft but tied the Yankees for the worst record in 2024 and will have a top 2 selection next off season)

Once the season starts we have daily sims which follows the MLB schedule. The advantage to this is if you miss a couple of sims you are missing days, not weeks of games.

We use Slack as a chat forum and some participation is expected. There are 7 channels dedicated to baseball and hockey (5), football (5), general, sports and politics have their own channels. Being active in the hockey and football channels and exhibiting knowledge in those sports will give you an advantage when an opening occurs. An additional way to get an advantage in those leagues is to become an assistant GM.

The Phillies have been taken. The new GM wanted the team which was the bigger challenge.

The Red Sox are still available. Along with the pitchers previously mentioned batters Jefferson Quero, Jake Burger, Jace Jung an Emmanuel Rodriguez are also Red Sox.
